Fatcatsplat
Confused.com, gocompare, comparethemarket??
apache
Confused.com, gocompare, comparethemarket?? +1 but do all three, they come up with different prices, but you should save a good chunk. We got quote of £260 down to a premium of £175 (only a little car but shows what can be achieved)
teal27
To have that sort of price for a td4 freelander you must have some points on your licence
Psyxologos
I have a Freelander 2 TD4 and a BMW 330Ci and I am paying £200 for each at Admiral multicar. Four years no claim bonus, comprehensive cover and I am 35 years of age.
Andy H
Have a look on the direct line website and see how much it would cost for a new policy ,Not a renewal as quite a lot try to rip off existing policyholders but give a good discount to new policy's taken out. stubby
I always get an online quote from my insurer's, when getting the renewel through, last year I saved £125 just by getting an online quote, from the same insurers, as stated, try gocompare and see if yours is on there,
J@mes
How old are you? I use Admiral for my Disco3, 26 with 7 years NCB, no points, no accidents and parked on the drive - about £280 a year.
spence
Sorry this is starting to erk, not just hear but on a number of forums. In general car insurance has gone up and up by quite a bit as we’ve found out. There are so many factors involved in the quotation calculation it’s almost impossible to compare one person/vehicle to another. Age, driving record, mileage, location and where the vehicle is kept to name just a few. Besides the suggested comparison sites, be careful as not all policies are directly comparable and some companies seem to dislike certain vehicles. There are a number of things you can do to mitigate the circumstances; increase the excess (although I can’t see the point of insurance cover where you pay costs as well as a premium), reduce the mileage limit or add another driver with a good record. Also look at the overall package, if you pay instalments check the APR, any included breakdown cover etc. Play one company off against another; it used to be said to try calling on a Friday afternoon, especially late in the month when they may need to hit sales targets. Hope you find something but it may take some work.

bruno22rf
Direct Line are well known for "cherry picking" customers-if you are a bog standard driver with a b/s car then you can get a reasonable quote-step outside these parameters and you,ll get clobbered.Anybody who does,nt shop around for a quote every year is simply throwing their hard earned away-once you get the cheapest quote online ring the company and beat them down a bit more-be willing to take out the policy there and then and try reducing the cost by-do you need legal cover?-sometimes your household insurance covers you.Can you afford to increase your excess?-can make a big difference. If you only have a couple of years no-claims then is it worth protecting it-all these things add up-save tesco clubcars points by making a point of filling up there and getting your mates to use your card when they do-you can get top level RAC cover for less then £60 worth of points. Neels
Hi I have a 2003 Freelander Diesel TD4 3 year NCD, additional driver with 3 year NCD too with Churchill via a comparison site, no claims, no convictions, living in a quiet area in North Wales. Middling excess 390 Pounds Per Annum (I might have been able to get that down a bit but was pushed for time) As Spence says - So many variables affect it Best advice, as given, is to shop around Cheers Neels
