palombier
All I don't think this is deadly nightshade which has a purple flower. Certainly it is a member of the solanum family and my guess would be black nightshade which is nowhere near as toxic as belladonna and a common weed. Regards P
berettaman
Dont destroy it,its possibly the most attractive thing growing in your garden amongst all those weeds you call flowers

Fisherman Mike
Solanum Negrum...........Black Nightshade. Definately Deadly Nightshade has Purple flowers with a yellow anther and stigma. as Palomnier correctly pointed out. Still quite toxic so dont imbibe. Mungler
Ah ah, we have the purple ones as well. The missus found some and garden binned it - very dark stem, tall and rigid. Quite a pretty plant. I understand that the berries are really sweet to taste which makes them very dangerous around kids.
