DaveK
no such problem here. Only problem I have it the massive price hike
bicykillgaz
all i can get locally is winnie subs, my cz hates them! I'd do anything for a local supplier of eley subs there a far superior round.
Dekers
Ok, I really don't use the Winchester subs very much at all, actually I'm not sure I have ever bought any, but I have used a few over the years and the wax business blows hot and cold from what I have experienced, sometimes bad, other times I haven't noticed it. On the whole a reasonable round in my CZ .22lr Silhouette, and I like the size of the HP, but Magtech do all I want in my .22lr these days! jayscott
I quickly changed from Winchester subs in my CZ now using remington... seem to be a larger consistancy in the size of hollow point IMO (could be seeing things) seem to be an oilier round too work well for me Jay
Vince Green
Years ago I used to know target shooters who would routinely wipe the wax off their ammo. I have seen them sitting in the club wiping their ammo before going in to shoot them.
ollie
The only problem I had was that my CZ didn't like them. I stick to Eley or Remington subs, both very accurate, but Remington about £2.50 cheaper per 100.
mrgsm
I have started to wipe mine down now as the first time i used my .22LR after about 60 shots my savage did not extract them prop.... the wax got into the extractor grooves! i was asking on some of the other forums is there any .22LR bullet that is better.. & less waxy.. it seams a good bullet if it was not for the wax. njc110381
I use Winchesters and find them very clean? Have they changed recently? I buy at least 500 and often 1000 at a time so don't buy that regularly, if they've got dirty in recent times I'd be keen to know before I go out and buy another thousand! garyb
I too have extraction problems using Winchester Subsonics in my Bolt Action rifle. And so does my friend with a brand new Sako
jonesbach
I use win subs in my cz452 and never had a problem?! the wax sticking and preventing it ejecting was a problem when i bought a batch of CCI's. The only trouble i find with the remington subs is that they seem to be too hard and dont drop rabbits but just 'go through' them. anyone heard of the new CCI .22 round that doesnt ricochet? I was told when I bought the CZ that the gun won't cycle CCI properly, think this may be a problem with most CZ's. Have to say I have been very impressed with the Remingtons, almost as good as Eley Subs.
