shall we form a "swapshop" type of thread? most of us usually have something lurking in the cupboards thats never going to see daylight again,

-let alone a gunbarrel.

think its a good idea?

mainly thinking wads, shot, buffer, etc...

Well I am just getting the gear together to reload 20 gauge shells.

I bought a 20g Bowman press, and one of the bottles has a stripped thread, so if anyone has something that'll fit that would be great. I did think it looked like a normal drinks bottle thread, but no. I doubt that'll be too hard to deal with. If I need new bushes I will turn them up on the lathe.

For myself I will be wanting to get scales, and then all the consumables. I guess I could turn a punch to do cards etc.

I made a .410 decapper and a skiver for one of the other guys on here.

When you make a card punch be sure to do one that you can spin in a drill press with a centre hole that will accomodate several cards deep before it is full up and a smaller hole thru the shank to push them back out . I can post a photo of mine if it would help

recipes can be exchanged at users own risk. i just would rather the pressure and velosity was published aswell.

there is no point just saying the powder charge and the payload, it helps if we know were loading to the max or very conservatively.

i`ll start off with this little cartridge, (the 1oz load)

from

http://www.outdoorslouisiana.com/ReloadingPage2.html

the only downside is its very heavy on the powder.

i also use a 7/8oz load with 45 grains of alliant steel.,

Yes good idea I need some steel 3.5 shot .

3.5 shotsize or 3.5mm, help us out buddy.

i`d also sugest you use the #shot per oz, as recently i`ve been finding lots of variation in different manufacturers.

lylevale are one shotsize less than gamebore (who stick to the true sizes, )

cook.

Well BUDDY it seemed to be a good idea but I dont think it will be if you BUDDY are going to knit pick on a trivial thing like that.

In 49years of shooting I have never come across 3 1/2 shotsize but I do know that steel is made in 3.5 mm .

they actually sell steel shot in .1mm increments. the stuff that we use are very aproximate, and can vary.

the shot is just created in bulk and sold to shotblasting industries and grinding industries.

from reloaders over the other side of the pond, have noticed poor quality of shot and in extreme cases arnt as advertised.

actually you can get both #3.5 lead and steel shotsizes. the numberes equate as 170 pellets /oz and .135" in diameter approx.

lead #3.5 is ~120 pellets per oz, it is made.

i`m not really knit picking, shot i bought is labelled as #2 shot but is actually #2.5 shot, thats why i weigh stuff and dont trust the packets.

your post is alittle negative. whats up?
