Dunkield
Intresting, my 695 is 9lb 5oz all up with bolt, scope, bipod but no ammo. I saved about 1.5lbs swapping the laminate stock for abs.

henry d
OK so I used a little trick to make the barrel look bigger than normal, here it is again. Not fired it as yet until I get the bore guide for it!
Dunkield
Are you a run in the barrel, or not, person H? I don't want to sidetrack this thread, just curious as what your plans are. I would also be intersted to see how slowly that barrel warms up compared to a normal one..

Marc M
No probs mate,It`s a Tikka T3 Varmint in 6.5x55,blued barrel synth stock with cheek raiser and beavertail fore-end. Beauty of a gun mate, I hope the groups you shoot are as good as the looks! Although I've recently passed my probationary members period at a local fullbore club I'm still very much a novice in the land of FAC rifles. Having bored the pants off just about every club member about the makes/model/calibres of their guns this calibre is not one I've come across to date. Is it a specialist deer round? What sort of maximum effective range does it have? Sorry to be a pain, the more I ask, the more I learn Marc

henry d
Mr P - I know we have roe on our ground and in the past 5 yrs the fallow have been breeding exponentionally, they are closing the A9(Scotlands A1) to shoot them at night, from the road I also get the odd invite to shoot Lord Cadogans hinds but have always had to decline. Marc M - It was,I believe, the swedish military calibre and is available from around 90-160 grain and as the bullet is long and heavy is good at resisting cross winds. Guest Mr Pieman
Henry, I think you have missed the point of my quip. I don't doubt you have Fallow deer, just not Fallow hinds. You see, the term for a female Fallow is a Doe. Red Hind and Stag Sika Hind and Stag Fallow Doe and Buck Roe Doe and Buck Muntjac Doe and Buck Chinese Water Deer Doe and Buck Sorry for being picky PP
