What do you get when you attach a camera to a Peregrine Falcon?

What a great video! I always have and always will find watching birds of prey totally fascinating! There is nothing more exciting for me than watching a bird of prey hunting or working, regardless of whether it is a humble Kesterel or a Peregrine Falcon, they are all worth watching and a real pleasure to see! For me the ultimate "thrill" (Maybe not the best choice of word but it suits the way I see things) is to have a bird of prey on your fist and ready to hunt and work for you.

Great video mate. These birds are simply great to watch. We have had a breeding pair breeding in our area for the last 20yrs or so. Most spring and early summer days you can see the adults out hunting the local pigeons flying off the side of the mountain. See the them spiraling in the up draft to a good hight, only to drop swiftly on to an unsuspecting pigeon and knocking it lifeless in seconds. They have hit them that hard on times, i have wittnessed heads coming of the birds they have caught. The youngsters calling excitedly at the sight of the parent bird coming in with a kill. Only trouble they have had is the local pigeon racers/ breeders. Offering money and some times trying to kill the birds them selves by leaving poison bait or shooting. Thankfully i don't think there as been a single bird which has died from this behavour though. Keep them vids coming mate, facinating to watch.

On 1 of my permissions I have a Falcon and god only know how many Kestrels (lots around my areas in Northumberland). This year when the combine arrived & had finished there was loads of mice and frogs around. Sure enough in came the birds of prey, they were marvellous to watch. Sat in my 4x4 for a good few hrs watching them & they did not seam that bothered to see me there.

This video was great to watch as you actually got a view from the birds of prey perspective. NICE ONE thx :good:

Its not until you see one hunting in real life that you truly see their speed and movability, my male is 18 months now, cant wait to see the little devil when he is in his prime

I second that notion mate...great looking bird you have there...bet he is gonna be a real hum dinger once he is at his peak.

I've got two Peregrines and a goshawk....the gossie is just over 2 years old now and it astounds me how easily they slip through the tree's the way they do...the timing as they slip between close lying branches is awesome to watch. And as for my peregrines...watching them on the woodies is amazing. When you see them in pursuit you get a feeling for the kinds of maneuverability they are capable of. Astounding.

When your boy comes of age and hits his prime mate your in for a real treat.
