Lez325
There are much better scopes around, than the Hawke range  go have a look at some, then choose one that suits you and your Air rifle Les Edited December 7, 2010 by Lez325

Thanks Shaun D. I've had the 4-9 x 42 and it was excellent. Vastly under-rated scopes. Also, cheaper here.. All Guns Discounted

Dekers
As you can see, lots of views. Hawke are no better or worse than any other "budget" scope, but Deben offer very good customer service in my book, so worth considering. You seem to have your mind set on certain specifications, and as someone else said, maybe look around a bit more. JSR own brand offer better glass than Hawke generally for similar/better money, but the build quality is worse. I have, or have had , Hawke, JSR, Nikko Sterling, AGS, Simmons, Leupold etc, and currently all my scopes are Mil dot. Look through a few and get what you want/need, it's the only way really! Sha Bu Le
In the last 3 months I have had 2 Hawke scopes, took the first one back the shop and got it changed. The second one is so inconsistant I am going to send it back to the makers. Since bought 2 Nikko Stirling 4-12X50AO for use on a BSA Lightning and a HW90 good results...rate them. Wear specs.the Hawke reticle almost disappears..not so with the Nikkos. Clear view of the reticle & the mildots. Recommend them and mine are fairly bottom range, mountmaster. Albion
Personally I'd rather buy a decent secondhand Nikko Sterling or Simmons, than a lousy brand new Hawke. Unfortunately I know this from experience As mentioned above, the Nikko Gameking 4-12x50 is the dog's danglies

JBS
The new panorama range is supposed to be excellent but I have no first hand experience as such! I do have a hawke frontier on my R10 though and it's a fantastic replacement for the mtc I sold to fund it Check the link for some info on the panorama from people who have tried it http://bsaog.co.uk/forum/index.php?topic=21996.

ATB Bri Steer well clear of the Nite Eye SR6! Can't really speak for other models in the Hawke range. I have had to return 3 with various faults. However they all shared one problem...grease spattered on the inside of the objective lense from the factory. Also, Debens customer service/after sales is absolutley horendous! I am fighting an ongoing battle with them at the moment, regarding the faulty scopes. So beware! This is Britain after all! Bad customer service seems to be the norm in this country nowadays, unfortunately. Edited December 9, 2010 by pigeon_ventilator
woodcock1
I have had a hawke nite eye 4-16 x 50 for about 6 years now. I first had it on a HMR and now on an air arms s410 extra. Ive had no problems with it what so ever and think it wasnt a bad scope optically for the money. About 140 at the time. Think I would go for a second hand scope of better quality next time though, just for better quality low light shooting. Daytime shooting the hawke is fine. Edward
I have a 3-9x50 eclipse ir ao and the reticule turned inside the tube which was a pain had to send it back and get another one (life time warrenty )
FalconFN
Had a 3-9 x 50 HD sport, cheap scope with clear optics but wouldn't hold zero. I wouldn't get another Hawke.

Excellent advice and I agree with it. I have a Sidewinder 30 on my FAC air rifle and it's an excellent scope for the money. (And, FWIW, my two powder burner's both have Zeiss scopes so I know what a decent scope is! )
garden gun
Horses for courses and budget. My Hawke Sport HD has worked fine for 5 years. But as my handle suggests I am currently only shooting local vermin so 4X32 is fine. Hold zero OK. Then what do you want for £30 list?
