hock
I have only shot clays upto now and have been using Hull Comp X 7.5 (http://www.hullcartridge.co.uk/products/competition/compx.cfm)and I'm going on my first game shoot at the weekend, will these be fine do you think? twitchynik
Depends on a few things. However, I'd say it'd be fairer on the bird and you if you treated yourself to some decent game carts. 32g of 5 or 6 shot, IMHO, would be a better starting point. sitsinhedges
You want 5s or 6s for a heavy bird like a pheasant

al4x
anything in a 30gram game load of 6's or similar I use either pigeon cartridges or more recently Just cartridges extreme game so basically whatever the shop has at a sensible price
Fishermanpaddy
Your 7's will work fine as long as your not popping them long range. Kent Velocity 32 6's are a good all round cartridge that wont break the bank and will give you the extra 10 yards.
Guest cookoff013
i think they "may" be just ok for partridge, but for phesents i`d go for 30g#6 or 32g#5 for later season. good luck.
hock
Been advised to go for gamebore black gold 30gm 6's ? any opinions (apart from they are £7 a box, which isn't too far off the others in shop if only buying 125-150)

Kill very cleanly.

HDAV
Cracking cartridges, but a much bigger bang than you are used to with the Comp X! Kill very cleanly. May be worth taking a box to clay ground first so you dont get a big a shock on your first outing most grounds have driven targets you can bang 25 out on.
