stuart21
Hi, I have just bought some of these and on the box it says "These cartridges are suitable for use in a gun nitro proofed to a service pressure of 900Kg". I have not seen this sentence before, how do I know if I can use it on my gun? I have a belgian SxS, it is a 12 bore, 70mm. Thanks Edited January 11, 2011 by stuart21

poontang
That's standard proof and should be ok with your gun. Check your gun and see what it's proofed for.

dougall
The kg 463 bit is a peculiar belgium thing and is the weight of the barrels. 31/4 tn/sq inch is usual so no problems SO LONG AS GUN AND PARTICULARLY BARRELS ARE IN GOOD NICK. If in doubt get the barrels checked over by gunsmith for any bulges/wall thickness etc. ATB

Andy H
Here you go. 70mm case length: Guns with a chamber length of 2 3/4" or longer, nitro proofed to a service pressure of 3 1/4 tons per square inch (900 kg per square cm) 67 mm case length: Guns with a chamber length of 2 1/2" or longer, nitro proofed to a service pressure of 3 tons per square inch (850 kg per square cm.)"
