Mungler
It's an armchair warrior Walting fantasist lock 'n load thing. There are some good macho quotes in the Psalms for the plinking Dogs of War. How about Psalm 144 : "Blessed be the LORD my strength, which teacheth my hands to war, and my fingers to fight" That one would look good tattooed across the forehead while commando rolling in front of the mirror   Spot on! When I first read this thread I assumed that chummy had gone for the Samual L Jackson Pulp Fiction Ezekiel 25:17 quote. That would have been proper rock hard for a non believer Lock and load, clunk click you muthas. Mind you, if said tat recipient doesn't believe in God he might as well have gone for any random slogan or ad campaign tag line: "Go Compare, Go Compare, When in doubt check them out go Compare, With just a few clicks save your spondoliks and you'll thank your stars that you went to go compare" Now that would look cool.... At least the chicks would know that you weren't careless with your money. Edited March 2, 2011 by Mungler
Thunderbird
I know this doesn't address the original thread but tattoos are always going to be a controversial subject, for most people it's like them or loathe them. I don't personally have any because I am a bit commitment phobic and they are way too permanent for me! My wife had a good idea if our son wanted to get one, and that is we would offer to pay for a semi-permanent one that lasts a few years then IF he still wanted the perm one it's his choice. I have known plenty of people who failed to get a job because of highly visible tats. One way to put a kid off getting a tattoo if you're against them or think they are too young is to ask if they would think it was 'sad' if you (hell, or even one of their grandparents) had one? Then explain chronological time to them. Or, get a transfer and say, 'you've never actually seen mine, have you.....?'

Evil Elvis
Why not just write I AM A CHAV on your forehead with felt tip pen? It would be a lot cheaper and it can be washed off when you get fed up with it. So not only have you discriminated against tatooed people you are calling all of us with tattoos chavs? Your narrow mindedness knows no bounds!!!! Frighten you do they, make you feel threatened? Less manly?

ajb403
Maybe you should refer him to Leviticus 19:28 "Do not cut your bodies for the dead or put tattoo marks on yourselves. I am the LORD." Cheers Ashley
henry d
The reason for that was "Pagans" did it as a sign of mourning and to get attention from their deities, so not really a "Must not!"

ajb403
The reason for that was "Pagans" did it as a sign of mourning and to get attention from their deities, so not really a "Must not!" Just to play devils advocate - surely the entirety of the bible (both testaments) must be timeless and still hold truth otherwise it is flawed? I am aware that the book of Leviticus is in the old testament and not strictly adopted by Christians, however, Matthew 5:17-18 suggests that the old testament should still be relevant: "17 Don't misunderstand why I have come. I did not come to abolish the law of Moses or the writings of the prophets. No, I came to fulfill them. 18 I assure you, until heaven and earth disappear, even the smallest detail of God's law will remain until its purpose is achieved." I'm not having a dig at you or anybody else, I just enjoy light hearted debate Cheers Ashley Edited March 2, 2011 by ajb403
