My guns have been in roof spaces in various houses for over 25 years and I always have silica sachets in them to remove moisture. The gun rests on foam gun dividers and sits on a carpet on the bottom. I have never had any issues with dry wood and neither have I had any problem with condensation etc!

...and make sure the loft insulation is removed from the area just below the cabinet! :good:

How do I store my guns in the roof space and keep them in good nick.

How do you stop damp, mould and rust?

A heater? A light bulb in the cabinet?

I have three seperate caninets.

I would put all the cabinets together then build a cupboard around them then heat the cupboard with a low wattage tube heater should keep the guns nice n cosy without drying the wood out.

The climate in the cupboard should then be about the same as in the house.

My brother has his cabinet in the loft. I remember installing it and the job it was actually getting it up into the loft. Must admit i would find it a chore going up and down the loft to access my guns but each and everyone to their own i suppose. Tbh i think your guns are better stored when your cabinet is in a room somewhere. A room temperature is better than a cold loft to my mind

No issues in roof space of last house, in fact you could not tell they had been stored whenever you took them out.

Thoroughly recommend them.
