casts_by_fly
Humberside have been very good to me over the past 4 years. They had some backlog when I first applied, but it has been cleared and they are running pretty good right now. It is a shame they lost your file, but I would put that down to a mishap from one person and not a force wide declaration. Since they lost it, maybe ask them to expedite your request to make up for it. If you have a specific need then they are very accomodating. Thanks, Rick
abadshot
Know how you feel, sent my inital FAC application to ****** in December, had my home home visit start of Feb and they still haven't got the paperwork back from FEO as of yesterday when I rang them, they told me it would be another four to six weeks once my paperwork was received back in the office, great isn't it? Scully
Not good enough I'm afraid. It looks like the hike in licensing costs wont be happening anytime soon then! They can't justify a cost rise with pathetic service like that.I'd be getting on their case I'm afraid. They're there to provide a service, and that doesn't describe what you're getting.Good job it's not a passport application for an impending trip eh? njc110381
Gloucestershire lost my initial application for my FAC. It took me about ten months to get it! Having said that since then they've been ok. Quite good even at times. Just because they mess up once doesn't mean they're hopeless, we all get it wrong sometimes. When we all chat on about them being a public service, I wonder how many of us actually know what they have to deal with? How many staff do they have? What's the turnover of their workload? What checks do they have to make and what forms do they have to fill in (if it's anything like other police work I'd say probably a lot more than they should!)? My only niggle is the number of mistakes that have been made on my tickets. They must have wasted days correcting them so if they took a little more time over it in the first place they may even save time in the long run?! TaxiDriver
Do you think they work on the basis that you daren't complain for fear of upsetting them ? After all, you pay your money, make your application yet they have the power to grant/deny your application, So this could make you reluctant to complain some :hmm:

After all, you pay your money, make your application yet they have the power to grant/deny your application, So this could make you reluctant to complain some :hmm: You pay the application fee to help towards (£50 doesn't cover the actual cost) the cost of people who process your application, you don't 'buy' an FAC But yes, i do think a lot of them know that we're scared to rock the boat for fear it would prejudice our applications Mark

TaxiDriver
Yer I dernt complain for that very reason but seen as they sed they had lost it I thort I had nothing to lose Well, after I posted above I thought I'd phone and enquire as to the progress of mine, I was asked if I'd had my home visit, to wit the answer is no because when the feo made an appointment I mentioned my subsequent seperate FAC application and he refused to visit saying he'd have to wait until he got the FAC paperwork and do it as a visit for both, like a co terminus application. I asked if they were now treating it as 2 seperate applications that were put in 2-3 weeks apart and paid for at the full price each, or a co terminus application, in which case shouldn't it should have been substantially cheaper ? The lady confirmed they were treating it as co terminus hence the reason for only wanting to do one visit. SO, I'm getting a £40 refund :good:
