My mate has one with a 5 shot magazine and it's a great gun. I've had a few goes on it and it swing's very nicely, it's light, and it doesnt have much recoil.

My mate said that it's the easiest and fastest semi - auto to clean that he's owned ( he's had about 6-7 of the top brand guns ).

I would love to own one with a synthetic stock (as i'm a rough shooter  ), but as the price is quite steep for my pocket i will only be dreaming about it    . I like my escort tough, it's cheap and cheerful, and a great gun for the money, but if i had the money i would buy a Maxus over it as it's in a totally different league compared to the escort    .

The benelli m2 is also a great gun for roughly the same price as the maxus ;) ;) ;)

I upgraded my Browning Gold S/A to a Maxus a few weeks back.

I ended up with a slightly second hand grade 3 which i got for an excellent price.

ligher to use because to the aluminium alloy body and shoots more or less the same as my old gold, it scored slightly better on clays and pigeons then the gold

a doddle to clean afterward and minimum recoil so its easy to use on an all day session.

proofed for steel as well as lead so yo ucan use it anywhere

highly recommended, piccy below

Very nice.

Personally i don't like those big lumps of rubber on the end of the butt. They must stick in the shoulder, horrible nasty things.

Can you get one with a wooden butt plate?

thanks for that now its finding a nice cheep one :good:

A cheap one? I suppose its not impossible but unlikely as they've not been available that long.

Most people like them as far as I can tell, including me, so they are not going to be selling

just yet. I paid £845 for mine which was a good price IMO.

I just got back from trying guns at Litts and have now changed my again lol

I'm not going for the Maxus or the M2 Field which I was also considering, I found the best fitting gun for me was:

BERETTA AL391 Urika 2 Synthetic

Although I do also like the BERETTA A400 Xplor Light :\ but I'm pretty sure when I go back to decide at the end of the month I'll go with the Urika

  • 5 weeks later...

I had one and the only complaint that I had was that the but pad was 'sticky' when mounting. This was really noticable in winter due to a thick clothing layers. A local gunshop said some people put nail varnish on the pad to help.

Otherwise no problems. The same gun shop asked if I had problems with jamming. Absolutely none. Also I've read complaints about the 'poor quality' camo finish. Mine was great.
