Psyxologos
In Pigeon watch, like in every other forum, you will find people who believe that -since they are behind a keyboard and nobody knows who they really are or what they really are like in real life- they can get away by masquerading as someone they can only aspire in their wildest dreams to be. Being free from the constrains of reality, they can pretend to be whoever they want you to believe they are, proclaim to achieve/know/own everything they want you to believe they do. They pleasure themselves by pretending to know everything about shooting, killing pests/quarry at the longest range and in epic numbers and being the chosen one in their area to be given permission to shoot wherever, whatever and whenever they want. The truth is, these are the people life has treated with contempt and keeps reminding them everyday that they are not worth the air they are breathing. Stuck in dead end jobs (if they hold or ever have held one), abusive relationships, their internet persona is the only thing they have in life. Their pathetic existence seeks gratification and reassurance via the perverse and rather peculiar means of a medium such as an internet forum where they are -finally- able to deceive themselves into thinking that their pathetic, miserable and self-detesting existence is somehow invisible to the rest of the users. To an extend this is true, as there is very little to be exposed, save a sneak peek at their self fantasised persona that the majority of people are unable to decipher. Don't worry. Pigeon watch is not the worse of virtual places to be, just a typical example of what happens in parallel realities and a stark reminder that you can never, ever take anything taking place in such a context seriously. Just enjoy the good advice that incontrovertibly can be found amongst the heaps of self-importance statements and take everything with a pinch of salt. Remember, when their virtual existence ceases for the night, they crawl back to their unfulfilling and miserable existence. It is what you do after you turn the PC/Mac of that matters... Blunderbust
I tend not to get involved in these type of threads, but I do read them and it gives me the opportunity to note who is being helpful and who is being silly. I can then be selective when conversing with the many good PW members and of course at the same time, I can choose to ignore the ones who are or have been disruptive in the past. I am member of many forums and this type of situation occurs on most of them at some time or the other. My advice would be to the OP's who ask a question, is to let it sit for a while before replying to any of the answers. By doing this you will get a gauge as to where your thread is going and at the same time you will be able to select the members who are being genuinely helpful. These members deserve a thankful reply and the others who are using your thread to try and cause problems through there self-appointed superiority can be ignored. I can assure you that it is good practice to totally ignore these types and at the same time you are proving to them that you are actually the sensible one by not rising to the bait. Please all continue to post and ask questions, we were all beginners at one time and there are many people who will help you buy giving sound advice and sensible answers on this great forum. Please forgive me if my grammar is not up to scratch and I apologise in advance if I have made any spelling mistakes.
