Daveo26
Guys I need help, I've done the unthinkable to a mates gun. I've dropped the forend of the gun and its split and to be fair scrap. Has anyone any idea where I can get him a new one? Repair is not an option as a piece is missing and basically I would'nt be happy with a repaired gun. Ive told him if I cant make it as good as new I'll give him what he paid for it. Please have a good think about it, I don't even know who the main importer is? welshwarrior
There is a guy who advertises in the back of Sporting Gun or Shooting Times who has lots of this sort of thing and is quite reasonable he sort a mate out for a Beretta 686 20 bore stock for around £200 good stuff to some of it is varnished tho from the US. If you can't find his number PM me and I'll look it out when I get home. Good luck and good on you for going the right thing, some would not. COACH
Try Browning UK, they are the importers, they will have one. But its finding one to match that's the problem. If you send them several high quality photo`s of all sides of the part they will try to pick one that matches.

Thanks buddy, I know the man you mean, Im sure my mate got a Winchester stock off him, Is he somewhere like Norfolk? If you could look for his number I would be very grateful, I will start trawling now. Try Browning UK, they are the importers, they will have one. But its finding one to match that's the problem. If you send them several high quality photo`s of all sides of the part they will try to pick one that matches. That is exactly what im worried out, not to mention the fact that it's had 2 years of ageing and oiling. It may have to be a matching stock plus fore end or Giving him the money for the gun. Im Gutted all round here, My mate's not even shot the gun yet we only collected it today and its on my ticket until his comes through. BerettaSV10
If you've got home contents insurance you might be covered. +1 Mine are covered on the contents, and if covered, its worth checking if the stock is covered as a grade 5 wood you would want both to match. If not covered hope you manage to find a close match.
seeker
not sure how current this lot are..?http://www.nsac.co.uk/stocks.htm Otherwise try some of the better known stockers...... they may have something and matching -up can be 'done'

Gordon R
Dave - there are various options which would put the matter right. On a different slant - can I say I admire the way you have not tried to evade what has happened and faced up to putting it right. It sounds just like the person you are, but in this day and age, some would be seeking to absolve themselves from blame or trying to wheedle out of it. Well done. :good:

Daveo26
Cheers Gordon, I have been let down in the past with simliar things from "mates" Im only doing what I would hope for. Iv got a few leads to chase up, Im waiting for a call from #### I think its Dennis? Im waiting to hear from a fella at northallerton re. some stocks and fore-ends Iv left a message with the Norfolk man and i have even emailed a couple of places in the U.S I cant, however find any contact details for BrowningUK. In the meantime I have repaired the damaged bit and passed it on to a former cabinet maker for finishing off, so the gun is shootable, which gives me more time. Meanwhile if anyone has a set of matching grade 5 or 3 wood for an mk70 please get intouch
