sako751sg
Have been doing a few all nighters at baited areas lately sitting in the Jeep and its been frustrating due to not getting comfy and making too much noisy getting the rifle ready when foxy appears.Had an idea in the head for a rest so took it to the brothers whos a plumber and we took it from there.Lots of adjustments and mistakes made but got it finished today and its the dogs danglies. It swivels and is made from 1/2 and 3/4 inch copper pipes and lagged. If you do a lot of shooting from stationary or moving vehicle i would highly recommend getting one made up.The good thing about doing it yourself is you can fit it to suit bang on your motor.Big thanks to the brother for his graft. sako751sg
Nice job that ! Is the copper upto the job though ? Totally up to the job.All soldered and very strong. The actual cradle is positioned so the weight is pretty well dispersed. thats a bit posh mate, i normaly use a rolled up jacket Same here fella, but i kid you not,if you make one like this to suit your vehicle you would never go back withoot one.It swings oot your way when waiting for the action and then comes straight to your shoulder with minimum noise and movement. looks good been trying to think up a rest that supports the gun outside the cab as i run a defender i don't have a lot of room inside it If your sitting waiting this design is spot on.Swing it towards the windscreen when nothing there and swing into you when it comes.Spot on. Top job mate :good: BB Cheers fella.

Heilan Coo
Funnily enough I've been trying to think of something for the oldman to shoot his .22 at bunnies etc from his escort van. Me being a plumber, you've given me something to go on. Just need to modify it to swing vertically as well as horizontally Nice work though
Frenchieboy
That looks like a real work of art, nice one! Can it be adjusted for height? p.s. I'll bet it will not be long before someone asks why you didn't spray it up to match the colour of your motor or camo paint it!

Me being a plumber, you've given me something to go on. Just need to modify it to swing vertically as well as horizontally Nice work though The first attempt had vertical adjustment in the form of a plastic compression fitting(probably wrong) but it offset the cradle too much but if you spend a wee bit longer you would manage it fella. There is enough movement to get a fair height adjustment so not too bad. That looks like a real work of art, nice one! Can it be adjusted for height? p.s. I'll bet it will not be long before someone asks why you didn't spray it up to match the colour of your motor or camo paint it! Great idea Frenchie,as i was just away to respray the Jeep to match the rest. No height adjustment fella but there is a fair bit movement to be able to get a few degrees of height. McF will testify that he and I have made various car window rests over the years, but overall, as stated above, the pipe lagging on the edge of the window glass does the job. webber

gixer1
Oh, you better make sure it doesn't leak on the inside of the vehicle too!
sako751sg
What time should I leave echt to get to you to pick up my one? And can you ensure it has the black lagging please! Would need all your vehicle details to make it fit perfect, and also your bank card details to empty it. Cant be sure it wont leak with our winters getting worse due to global warming though. If you have a plumber mate though would seriously recommend getting one to suit your motor.I read folk saying a bit of lagging on the window does the same.Total keech. It works, but no way can it be compared to a custom made job.If you want a look and see how handy they are feel free to head over.
