100+ ON RAPE STUBBLE

had a bash with me old fella today on the first cut rape stubble on this particular farm, it was cut wed, i had a look at it yesterday, and it was full of birds and a lot flighting to it as well.

so today we set up along a tall hedge under an oak, wind was slightly off blowing side on to us, no worries we felt we could drag them across us, got rotary set up straight away did the trick from the off steady line coming in, another line developed other side of the field, but i was reluctant to move as we were shooting birds in the orginal spot.

the battery for the rotary died on us about 2.30pm,we thought it was fully charged but it wasn,t, up till then it was pulling nearly everything in, so spent the rest of the day with a lot of dead birds for decoys and a bouncer, they came in a bit slower without it,but had to make do with statics.

tricky shooting at times in the strong wind but both shot well bringing some really long birds down.finished at 5.30pm wiyh birds still flighting but had a lot of packing and picking up to do.

138 on the clicker picked 124 and would of been nearer to 200 if we could of shot to the left of us, but houses lined one side of the field.
