Hey all on PigeonWatch,

My name's Chris and I've been reading your forum for the past couple of weeks and have found a huge amount of helpful information. Decided to sign up!

I'm a complete newb to the whole air rifle etc scene and found a lot of the information here useful, and I'm currently preparing myself (and my budget!) to buying my first air rifle which I hope will bring much enjoyment and also spring a whole perspective of life into me. I've read around quite a bit and will be dipping my toes into this world of yours, hoping not to get stung!

The only experience I've had of real "projectile" weapons was a BB handgun when I was 13, and since then have completely neglected the firearm scene in the UK. Now I'm 22, and recently got an urge to purchase my first air rifle. I currently own an acre of land (1/2 dense wood/garden), behind which is a huge grassland - prime hunting ground! I also live next to a golf course which I've heard in gossip is pestered by rabbits and the like - possible hunting spots with permission? It's an excellent area to start!

Any way, I'd like to thank every contributer to this website in advance (and previous) for the information which has helped in my research and signing up. You're all excellent people! I hope to contribute to this website myself in the time to come, but first I need to find an air rifle! I'm quite sure a Weihrauch is the way to go as a first gun (I've got a £200-300 budget, 2nd hand rifles, spring preferred) but always open to any experienced rifler's opinions. I'll be off to my local gun dealer in the next few days to get my first - any information on a first rifle is good information!

Again, thank you all. Great community, great people and a great activity to get involved in!

Your new and enthusiastic member,

JackHammer (a.k.a. Chris)

Welcome to the watch. :good:

Chris if your budget is around £3oo I would look at some pre charged air rifle's.

They are easier to shoot than a springer.

You should be able to get something like a AA s200 with a pump for £300.If you can get a s400 or s410 all the better.

Good luck with whatever you get. :good:
