debaser
My wife's in NZ at the moment so apart from the normal lads stuff I've been doing (beers, football, motorbike trips) I've bought myself a Hatsan Escort and hopefully when my license arrives a new Cz 452. I figure she does not need to know about the Hatsan and CZ.....although were not skint were not minted either. I rarely buy anything for myself, so I thought what the hell. Anyone else a bit liberal with the truth? ATB
poontang
Best not tell her about the Hatsan....she'll only laugh at you
88b
I came home with a new Buell to keep the Harley company, can't say she was too impressed but I worked on the principal it's easier to get forgiveness than permission.
njc110381
No, you should tell her. In fact, perhaps maybe you could have mentioned you were planning to buy some kit before you actually did if things are tight? It's a slippery slope hiding things. If she won't like something either consider that and don't do it or if it's important enough to you then have a damn good row over it and put your point to her more strongly. I'm not the sort of person to hold things back. I feel it's very important to be honest even if others don't like what they hear.

Bad Monkey
Maybe i'm lucky but my mrs has always supported me in my interests/hobbies, if i want something new i always mention it out of courtesy, but she never complains.
canthitathing
I was chatting to the owner of a fairly large gunshop about the cost of different guns. He said that he regularly gets asked by blokes buying new guns to give them a receipt for a couple of hundred quid for the new gun so the wife wouldn't know how much it actually cost That's a bit Devious and sly I thought Bloody great Idea though
chrispti
I tell my Mrs every thing............. if she notices and asks Although I do have a terrible memory and regularly forget a ''0'' or two when she asks the price

ack-ack
My Mrs is good as gold. I know how far I can push my luck and I try not to take the mickey. I do tend to fib a bit to get out shooting though. The promise of lucrative contracts from useful contacts etc etc. None of the guys I shoot with have got a pot to **** in

cockercas
I buy what I like. So long as kids and Mrs have a roof over their heads and food on the table. That's why I work as much as I do. Plus she gets every thing she asks for. so thers no reason to complain. Last week I come home with a tape measure that cost 30 notes. Its shiny and can stand out 6 meters. UKPoacher
The thing is to play them at their own game. Don't tell them how much it cost. Tell them how much you saved My missus doesn'tbother what I buy as long as its with my money. It does help though that she doesn't know the difference betwwen a QB78 and an Prosport, or the eight ot nine airguns I've had in between, let alone a SXS or semi. utectok
Put simply I don't tell the wife I've bought another gun or if she did notice how much it actually cost but then again I would complain if she bought a few dresses handbags etc. We have a joint bills housekeeping account and our own personall accounts so it works out fine! Mind you she is still shocked when I say the dog cost 350........ Won't get many trained gundogs for that!! sg1
mines like that ,i work hard she only looks after the 4 kids and the house Mines kinda the other way round , She's never done a days hard work, I do 99% of the cooking at home, I make sure the bills get paid and the kids get to school, I arrange doctors, opticians etc appointments AND I take her target shooting with me at the range as she shoots too . (but not clays...except once, that's MY free time ) So if I want a new cartridge bag or new2nd hand boom stick or camo clothing, more cartridges then DAMN RIGHT I go get it!! but must admit , the ammo safe is a great place to file reciepts and 'spare' spending vouchers with the Queens head on atvb sg1
