Frank;

That is a huge herd for ferels. Did someone just give up and turn the lot loose or have they been building for a few years? Matters not in my book as I find young goat to be just as tasty as lamb. :P

NTTF

Apparently, they have only been their for 4 odd years. They breed all threw the year it seems and the population got too big.

Feral goats are quiet common in certain parts of Ireland.

This herd started from just 5 animals. :P

Looks like some great fun :P Are there legal requirments as to calibre and MV for goats?

Cheers

Gibby

Not as yet Gibby. I use my .223 and find it puts them down no problem, with correct bullet placement of course. :P

The young one i got this afternoon, fell to a American Eagle 50 gr Hallow point.

Goats chest cavitys are more flat and britle then a fallow for instance. I have found, with wild goats, that a fast expanding bullet does the job better then a heavy one.

What sort of size are they (closest deer to its size)? Munty?

Gibby

Id say, roe, the feamales, to Fallow prickett, the big billys, their legs are shorter though then deer, the very young would be like muntys.
