22-250 full setup needed

Anyone have or know of a full setup 22-250 (scope and mod incl.)?

I've been on gunshop, guntrader, Gunstar, etc. There are some nice ones there, but are either a bit expensive or don't have the glass and mod.

I must admit that I have a fantasy about having one with a barrell that hasn't had thousands of rounds down it and looks like a mirror.

Any ideas (not including buy a 222/223/243/// instead  )?

you can get some bargains out there.

I picked up a full 243 set up with scope mod, sling and 50 factory Sako/Privvi rounds for £400

already had a mod and scope so sold those for £230.

If you factor in the ammo I got the rifle for £90

shoots very well

If you hear of a .22-250 going similar to this, make sure you get my attention! :good:

I've fallen into the 'cheap and cheerful' trap before. Not to say that you can't get a bargain, or that any of the above aren't a good purchase, but I'll certainly think twice before buying again.

As with any of the fastest flinging rifles, a bargain 22-250 is something to be cautious of.

If you find one make sure it has a warranty regarding accuracy. 1 inch at 100 yards is fine. Most 22.250s are sold for a reason, usually people trading up to more accurate calibers. Now there are some accurate 22.250s but I have seen/owned far more less than good ones than good ones. Why do you want a 22.250?, you realise that unless the rifle weighs 14lbs plus you wont see many impacts as the recoil lifts the rifle and scope off the target.

I have a lightweight 22-250 and there's hardly any recoil.

I don't really get what you mean though. it's as if you're implying that the recoil will move the POI beyond what you had zeroed the rifle. If the recoil affects the POI, you'd have accounted for that when you zeroed the rifle.

99% of the recoil will be seen/felt after the bullet has left the barrel, so it could jump 10" up and it'd not make any difference.

Why do I seem to own a quiet, low recoil 22-250?!

Anything to do with owning a .270?

I'd say you've hit the nail on the head there. The .270 in my opinion is a horrible calibre from the angle of the man firing it! It's loud, kicks like a mule.... Need I say more? Sure it does the job but my god I've fired some hefty rounds in my time and that was one of the worst!

If you can let a round off from your .22-250 and hold a sight picture so you see the impact... Well you're a better man than me! :good:

There not full set ups but countryman of derby have 3 22-250s there's two tikka 55 for £475 and £449 and a tikka t3 for £475

I've been in contact and the rifles are all 'naked' other than a Mauser and as such put them quite a bit above my budget, but thanks for the tip. (I had already 'marked' the Tikkas  )
