sorry if this is a silly question, but i've never done a 'proper' days game shooting. What birds is it? Or is it whatevers about, a mix? Also, how many birds do you get to take home with you? Many thanks, pete

Seems no one has replied.

I would guess its most likely mainly pheasant with possibly a few partridge and maybe wildfowl. Pigeons would normally be included free. After you have finished shooting for the day you must tip the keeper discretely, a folded £20 in a thank you handshake is the norm for 80- 100 birds, £30 for 150 and so on. He ( or she ?) will then offer you two birds to take home, these should be taken and enjoyed. PM me if you need to know how to prepare them for the oven.

Looks a fair drive for you, book a B&B close by for the night before. It looks good value for money to me, 20 guns x 80 birds= 4 each, = £20 each. Thats quite cheap for game shooting. Go and put toe in the game shooting water, if you have not done it before I would be quite happy to talk to your for half an hour on the phone to take you through the dos and dont's. ( I have been shooting mainly driven game for just under 50 years !!) .
