JBS
I've been waiting a while for these to come back in stock but thought I would ask if anyone else has used one before I splash out forty quid on something to park my **** on! Seems pricey for a hide seat but if it's comfy and well made I think it will be worth it http://www.auctiva.com/hostedimages/showimage.aspx?gid=1304346&image=467327760&images=467327760,467327793,467327824,467327954&formats=0,0,0,0&format=
ozzy518
I have one....its comfy enough and the spin seat works well. Sometimes is a pain in the bum putting the thing up, a bit like wrestling a deckchair..
pigeonblasterian
I have one and find it comfy.A bit on the heavy side if you have a bit of walking to do.But the seat i like to use.
Cranfield
It looks a bit bulky and I always examine the "feet" on seats, as most of the time the ground is soft. Flat mud feet, or braced feet are essential, those "feet" look like they will sink in nicely.
BenBhoy
i just use a small folding stool, cost less than a 5iver and is perfect - lightweight and flat square feet. got from mountain warehouse.
Cosd
Will agree with Cranfield regarding the feet sinking, though it looks like it would only sink up to the cross members which is good, except I'm guessing it will then be quite low and difficult to stand quickly from, to take a shot. My main tips for a new hide seat would be: Weight Comfort Height I personally use one of Cabela's spin top bucket seat, which ticks all the above boxes plus I have a clean dry storage area which fits loads. The downside would be that it doesn't have a back rest which would be good, but nothing a bit of DIY couldn't fix if I can get my a'''e into gear. hawkeye
I got 3 of these for myself and a couple of mates got to say we use nothing else now and have not had any trouble with them sinking and i'm no lightweight. They are comfortable and good to have a back rest.. :good:

This is what i'm using currently but even with my memory foam mod it's a killer after a couple of hours  I got 3 of these for myself and a couple of mates got to say we use nothing else now and have not had any trouble with them sinking and i'm no lightweight. Billy1
I purchased one of these at this years CLA fair and it is far the best seat i have used, comfy seat, good backrest and a handy bag built under the seat which is ideal for putting cartridges in. hawkeye
Never got round to using the bag yet but the back rest is very good as i have trouble now and then with a bad back
TaxiDriver
Aren't alot of these seats all quite low ? Is it possible to shoot from a sitting position ? (thinking pigeons here) I'm looking for something comfortable height, stable enough that I don't have to use core/thigh muscles to keep upright, So far I'm looking at fishing chairs with adjustable legs. hawkeye
Im 6ft 1" and find the seat is just right height wise without going into the garage to measure it i think it is about 22" high.. I shoot from a sitting position in the hide most of the time but if i have to get up quickly i find its no problem with this seat.... Mightymariner
I fancy one of these mostly because it has a backrest. I have a Cabellas seat which I think is great but the lack of something to lean back on gets tiring during a long day in the hide. Mind you, I can't afford one at the moment. JBS
My new seat arrived a couple of days ago first impressions seem good, it seems well made, has a good backrest, is heavier than most but because of this will probably last longer, has a carry strap included and has a neat waterproof bag and seat Only bad point would be the padding in the seat isnt as good as expected but i cant comment on what its like for a day in the field as i haven't used it yet, the seat cover is held on by the elastic around the bottom and there is plenty of room in the cover to add a bit more quality padding which is what i intend to do. The seat spins freely enough although because of the extra length on the seat cover it does catch the underneath when spun this should be better when i've added the extra padding The seat height is about 22" to the top of the padding and did seem taller than i'm used to but i think it will be perfect in the hide, i tend to shoot sitting down but the seat is just right to get up quickly for the times you have to stand. All in all i'd give it 9/10 before use in the field, if only they had added a bit more quality padding (99p off the bay) i would struggle to find fault, will report back when its had a day out although that could be a while now with all these pheasants to get in the air Edited November 3, 2011 by JBS

TaxiDriver
Got my seat yesterday and I'm very pleased with it. And I figure my backside has enough quality padding of its' own
JBS
I have now been using this seat for a couple of months so thought i'd give an update on the seat, unfortunatley i havent got a great deal to say thats good mainly because i dont expect it to last more than a couple more outings,to say i'm dissapointed is an understatement but the fact is that after maybe a dozen (maximum) outings the seat is nearly scrap Although the construction seems very strong i noticed last week that the backrest felt further away and had to use my jacket behind me to get comfortable, on closer inspection back at home i realised the backrest had bent on one side, although i was annoyed i thought this could easily have happened by mistake loading it in the truck or something daft so thought i would just straighten out and reinforce where it needed it but this was just the start of it :o It turns out the entire frame has bent, both sides of the frame have started to banana almost to the point of a crease in the steel which i expect will happen on the next couple of outings making the seat scrap. How can this happen to seat which cost best part of fiftey quid with the postage and before anyone assumes there is a weight issue i should say i'm only 12 stone wet through i would be interested to know if anyone else who bought one of these has had any issues?? maybe you could check to see if yours has started to bend?? perhaps i just got a bad one but i will not be parting with any more of my hard earned to double check, i have to say that up until the point this happened i was very happy with the seat especially after adding some extra padding but at nearly 5 quid an outing it just not on! Sorry for the rant but if it saves one more person best part of £50 then i'll be happy
pigeonblasterian
Had my seat now for a couple of years. Not one bit of trouble with it up to now.The only sign of wear is on the top of the backrest.Where the cloth comes in to contact with the metal it is starting to fray. TaxiDriver
Ive got the same seat I think, (the one with the fold up back rest and swivel seat?) Only annoying thing I found when folded and trying to carry it is that the strap appears to be fitted on the bottom and when it hangs on your shoulder the piece of wood with the seat mounted drops out of the frame and bangs about on yer leg

ayano3
I use an old fishing box, cartridges, magnet, battery, shells, nets, and other bits and bobs all fit inside. One side tray clips on the outside for loose cartridges at hand. Foam filled waterproof cushion for the top. Fits on the old fishing trolley for when its a walk in job. It does have a nice wide strap for when I carry it. Poles, Magnet arms etc fit in an old gun slip thats held onto the trolley with bungee strap's and away I go. Sprackles
Well got mine 5 weeks ago, today it snapped. One minute sat there then as I swivelled it just collapsed. Very disappointed. I was loving it while it lasted.
