Barlow is a prime bit off land....a weekend shift me thinks :yp:

Anyway back to the OP, I believe this whole bulb and foot thing (as most thought) is an Urban myth.

Possible silly question but here goes: all the modern torches are using LEDs which are very bright and use very little power. Why are we not using LED based bulbs instead of these lousy dim things? I realise the light is quite cold and directional but there must be a way of designing reflectors that will spread the light around like a traditional incandescent?

We are, but not without issues (cost mainly) http://www.lighting.philips.co.uk/subsites/oem/product_pages/masterled.wpd I am off to try and sort an issue with some tomorrow!

Let me know when you're planning this and I'll come across to the dark side of the Pennines and we can have a power station workers comp. You Drax lot might be the biggest but are you the best??
