Hunter
I had a go at fox calling today. I used only my finger and lips, no fox call. Infact, I was actually trying out this rabbit calling trick which I still dont believe untill seen. So there was me sqeeking away until 5 mins in, I gave up.. Sudenly I noticed Charlie looking at me about 20 yards away in the bush, so carefully mounted the rifle, and quickly sent a 40grain Winchester HP at a carefully aimed spot on his head. Right between the ears, and down he went. Nice and clean, not a twitch FAQ Axe, heres my ugly mug shot. I set the camera on timer, and put it on a fence post.. Was suprised how heavy the thing was! a good 5kg of fox there

Hunter
nice one well done i bet the adrenalin was pumpin i know mine was when i shot my first fox Thanks everyone, for all the kind replies! More on the way hopefully. I would have gone for a chest shot if it was more exposed.. I didnt have much adrenalin then.. as I got up at 5.30 this morning, and went out hunting. Then went to town for more .22lr ammunition, then back to the range to try out some high velocity. Noisy stuff! but suprisingly good grouping in the wind at 70m on my zero range. (that I havent finished working on yet ) Can anyone tell me the safety precautions with fox? I was not sureif its safe to handle one without a glove, as I had to get it into a black bine liner for disposal. I then washed my hands well.. but I could bring gloves next time if thats better? Thanks :o

Thanks :o The thing to look out for is, mange, or in human turms, scabies. You can easly tell a fox with mange it has sores all over it and in some cases, nearly bald. flytie
Hunter, I would always use gloves if possible as you really, really do not want scabies! Ft
