All finished?

Its looking that way. All has been quiet for 2 and a half hours and mum is having a rest while the pups fill their bellies.

between the 3rd and 4th pup there was a still born only a quater of the size of the others without any fur (i susspect it died a while back) that would have made 5 but when I had her scanned they thought there could be 7. Is it possible there could be more or is it more likely that the person doing the scan was mistaken. She did say she couldn't be certain on quantities. I need to call the vet in an hour and a half to let them know how many I'll be bringing in for docking.

Fantastic!! great pics. Looking for a springer pup to go with ours in the new year, hope all goes well for you all.

All the very best Paul.

Thanks Paul,

We will be keeping one of the bitches and hopefully selling the others. We know which one we prefer the look of but I'm going to hold off making a decision and see how they come on.

I'm looking forward to the next couple of months. (remind me I said that in 5 or six weeks)

I wouldn't have to much faith in a scan as we had our spaniel scaned 1month before the birth date saying about 5 pups, after the £900 cesarean 13 were delivered

The scan was just to see if she was carrying pups so I could make sure we were prepared but I'm surprised to hear how in-accurate they are.

I went to the vets Sunday to get her checked out with there being a differance in numbers(first litter for Teal and me) he gave her a jab to clear out anything that may have been left inside her (even tho he did have a good feel at her and said it was unlikely there were anything left inside her) and while I was there he told me he has just been in court after being sued by a woman for the price of a pup as there was actually one less than he told her at the time of the scan, luckily he won.

Just to add, both mum and pups are doing fine. :good:

I'm so glad its just a small litter. I would hate to think I'd have to find homes for 11 or 12 pups. on the other hand when the 3 that are going have sold I still won't have covered my costs (stud, vets, feed, etc
