Yorkshire Pudding
The hunting bill is getting another reading in the H o P . It will not go through this time , but for all you that enjoy "dogging" watch out. But brighter news has also come through today that the good people who enjoy same sex relationships are to get more rights. Glad to see Tony who is a self confessed catholic is reading the good book . all the best yis yp
red_stag88
Only 2% of the nation belive that the HoP sould have The Bill as a prioritry, most people dont give a toss any longer.
Yorkshire Pudding
Red. I can see your point about the 2%...but the bill is still going to go through the HoP eventually. So fox hunts will have to be licensed . Stag hunting and hare courseing will be banned. Quite what the strict definition is of coursing is....i don't know... My understanding of the term coursing is....that if a dog runs any animal this is known as coursing (said animal) But coursing events are held up and down the country , where 2 dogs run against each other, to see which dog is the fastest and the most "cunning" Any help on exactly what the coursing ban will enclude ...i would be greatfull all the best yis yp
red_stag88
So this means if your new pup chases a bolting rabbit on a walk, you can get done for it. Maddness P.S. any one see the new CA pro hunting ad in the Telegraph, quite clever.
brooktrout
If every shooter in the uk was a member of BASC or any other similar organisation, this bill would not even have seen the light of day. We are in this situation right now simply because of the lethargy of the millions of so-called supporters of country sports who sit back on their rectums and expect a minority of shooters to do all the fighting for them. This proposed ban of hunting with dogs WILL materialise, make no mistake about that, I only hope that it will be a wake-up call to everyone who enjoys country sports but are too thick to see where we are all heading, and are too mean to contribute to organisations that can certainly save our sport. How many here contribute to such an organisation?.
Buzzer
Brooktrout, Me for one, I am a member of the C.A & U.C.S.W...as well as the C.P.S.A. I also marched in London last year, wich we all know not every country sports man did ! I for one stood up and was counted ! Long live our way of life !! Yorkshire Pudding
I did'nt march due to work commitments.....countryside march in the middle of drilling...go figure....was the march for those in the country , and work in the countryside read it a few times.....you'll kinda get me gist. all the best yis yp
ernyha
I am a member of B.A.S.C. , didn,t march because of health reasons and have never been a keen fan of fox hunting. On the other hand i would never subscribe to the banning of a sport that means as much to the huntsfolk as shooting means to me. Also perhaps on a selfish note, i know too well that if hunting is eventually banned then shooting will be the next item on the agenda for banning with fishing a close second. The ultimate goal of these so called do-gooders is to eliminate all forms of country sport and they have no intention of stopping with the banning of hunting with dogs. The Sniper
Ern, Your reply was exactly same as mine , except I was fortunate enough to be able to go on the March last year. Well said me old love. See, you are not as senile as you appear to be in the chat room.

Columbus Polumbus
Well the ban looks like it has made another step towards sounding the death bell for Fox hunting. My mate is gonna be homeless; the shandy drinkin pinko plonker hypocrites. Looking forward to the next march and hoping the House of Lords chucks it out on its ear. I have never voted for those ********* and never will now ever........ !!!
Cranfield
Well it now passes to the House of Lords, lets hope they scupper it, or string it out for ever. Its interesting that the "detail", has not yet been settled. I heard a senior Police Officer being interviewed on Radio 4, last Autumn and he said it would be virtually unenforceable. There is also the question of compensation for people that will lose jobs, homes etc. as a result of the new law.
Columbus Polumbus
And what about all the hounds that will need destroying? Oh silly me I forgot, perhaps we could get some LACS to break in (criminal offence) and release them into the wild like all the mink (another criminal offence) and let them hunt for themselves............. hope they all head for the cities and eat cats for survival, then perhaps I might be called into hunt and destroy them............. what hypocracy it makes me puke. If you read the white paper cranners you will have noted Alun Michael has vocifirously denied the huntsmans rights to compensation so in other words my mate is homeless and penniless but hey who cares about him after all he is only human, we keep a load of immigrants on the state a few hundred more huntsmen and women won't matter. Yorkshire Pudding
for those of you who take your dog shooting , and use said dog to "flush" or track game. I'd start sweating if i was you..... all the best yis yp
Pigeon Pieman
Don't expect the Bill to be held up by the House of Lords. The very fact that, when asked if they would use it they refused to say, makes me think the Government wil invoke the Parliament Act on our cause. For those that don't know the Act, it allows the serving Government to impose acceptance on the Lords if it is felt they are being obstructive to the good of the people. :< :< As they don't give a flying **** about us or our sporting chums, I reckon it'll be pushed through, overruling the Lords, by Christmas. Total bunch of egotistical, ****** things up wot ain't busted ******** :< :< :< Sorry Cranfield et al, but it needed saying i humbly accept my 'moderation.' :*) :*)
Guest flightline
Most observers/press commentators seem to think that a ban on hunting is really really really going to happen now. What do I know? Just that we have to keep fighting for hunting or we`re next. Actually, we`re involved as terrier work was threatened under the existing bill. This will end at the European Court and in massive civil disobedience. Let`s start protesting now. I copied the following from a BASC newsletter (I`m a member) and I was on the Countryside March. I`ve never hunted in my life. The BBC website has a poll on whether to ban, compromise or leave hunting alone? Please use your vote, it can be found at <http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk/1880880.stm>

rjimmer
I suggest everybody, who is concerned, start killing foxes by any legal means and systematically dump them in prominant places so that the public can see what will happen if hunting is banned. Anybody into photography should start sending pictures of mangey and flea-ridden old foxes to their local and national newspapers to show the suffering that will result in banning the practice that is nearest to nature's way of balancing fox numbers with the rest of our wild creatures, now that there are no natural predators to do the job. brooktrout
Im with you there Rjimmer, I live on a housing estate surrounded by a rural area. The increase in the fox population over the last eight years or so is incredible. Foxcubs continually scavenging in binbags throughout the spring and summer, and some ofthe mangiest foxes you ever saw, walking through streets in broad daylight. As you say,no natural predators, and a government ban on hunting them, crazy!.
The Sniper
Help required everybody. I have a good mate in Australia who has just asked me about this proposed ban. Apparently the antis over there are seizing on this issue with a view to adopting it over there. He has asked me what is actually being proposed. Before I answer him I would like to read up a bit more on the net about what is being proposed but more importantly what the exemptions would be. Anybody know of any good links please ? The Sniper
Hg, No I've been a member of BASC for years and can see no reason to join other organisations ,so long as BASC represents to me the same views and aims as the others. Plus on my pension I can't afford to join them all. :*)
