mfletch
Is this true or not Are you aware of the following ? The British Government provides the following financial assistance:- BRITISH OLD AGED PENSIONER (bearing in mind they worked hard and paid their Income Tax and National Insurance contributions to the British government all their working life) Weekly allowance: £106.00 IMMIGRANTS/REFUGEES LIVING IN BRITAIN (No Income Tax and National Insurance contribution whatsoever) Weekly allowance: £250.00 BRITISH OLD AGED PENSIONER Weekly Spouse allowance: £25.00 ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS/REFUGEES LIVING IN BRITAIN Weekly Spouse allowance: £225.00 BRITISH OLD AGED PENSIONER Additional weekly hardship allowance £0.00 http://www.dailymail.co.uk/debate/newsdebate/f/t-10238490/p-1/index.html DWP response I should first clarify that illegal immigrants are by definition unable to claim or qualify for any benefits whatsoever as they are usually living in the UK unknown to the relevant authorities. There is no standard benefit that asylum seekers can receive in the way suggested by the information you have received. Since 3 April 2000, asylum seekers who require assistance are offered support by way of a cash In the event of an asylum seeker being granted refugee status, they are subject to the same rules of entitlement to benefit, and rates of benefit, as United Kingdom citizens. ******************************************************** This Great Britain is not going down the pan its already on the DODO heap Edited February 19, 2012 by mfletch

Ricko
Enoch was right. For our younger viewers, Enoch Powell was an MP who warned against mass imigration into this country and was pilloried for it in the 1970s. He was labelled racist etc. but he could see that unregulated immigration into the UK would have severe economic problems further down the line. Enoch Powell, the greatest PM we never had. Please discuss.

Willxx
I would have expected by now for a standard minimum acceptable amount to be levelled equally across our happy harmonised Europe and the attendant benefits etc standardised so that immigrants get the same in france greece italy or uk and pensioners also get an amount which would equal that provided to those they could well have struggled against in the past

Cranfield
No it`s not, it`s an open letter on a forum of a poor excuse for a newspaper. That just about sums it up. Its not a news article, its a "cut and paste" item in their "Debate" section.
