Hi I just thought I’d say hello, I’ve been reading the forum and see there are quite a few people from Kent. I’m in a village called Collier Street near Marden.

I have a Hatsan Mod 85X .22 air rifle and am interested in shooting some pigeons and rabbits; I’m looking for somewhere to learn and really somewhere to shoot. I’ve got a target in the garden and have permission to shoot across my neighbours field, I’ve also got some shell decoys but still haven’t been out to set them up and I would rather have been out with someone experienced before going it alone, for some confidence and of course not wanting to put the animals through any unneeded suffering.

Does anyone know of a place that teaches/accompany novices as a sort of training day? Or is there anyone around with somewhere to shoot who wouldn’t mind teaching a noob like me? I’m sure the beers after would be paid for.

I’ve also got West Kent Shooting School down the road from me if anyone has any experience with this place I’d be interested in their opinion as thinking of going there to have a few lessons.

Thanks

Neil

Hi Neil and welcome.

I am from north of Canterbury and am a newbie myself. I am in the course of learning to decoy and despite having permission for hundreds of acres have yet to shoot anything. I have only just supplied my insurance, I.D. and details to the farmer. I shall stay in touch and hopefully we could get together and perhaps move forward together.
