Doc Holliday
I lodged my claim dirct with Lloyds in the end as claim company lost the paper work. Smacked of incompetence plus wanting to charge me close to 30% for the privilege so I thoiught I'd go it alone. I got a letter back from Lloyds saying there was no record of them selling me PPI so am in the process of sending them a snotty letter with the details of the loan account detailing PPI payments along with a expectation forthe full amount paid back plus interest plus compensation for taking the **** for selling it to me. Bunch of *******. But if there is a more tactful approach I'd be keen to learn it.

Bunch of Tossers. But if there is a more tactful approach I'd be keen to learn it. I went down the DSAR route to make sure I had every bit of information they had on me to ensure I was doing things right and that they weren't telling me porkies. No chasing from me once they admitted fault. Be prepared for a long wait. Mine came through about a month after they said they'd repay me, others have been waiting for much, much longer. Good luck! Brown Sauce
Doc, go into your local brach of lloyds and ask for a ppi escalation form to be completed have them fax it back to the 01633 number at the bottom of the form, along with your original loan paperwork. The complaint is lodged at branch and handed off to the general insurance dept that should help. Probably some newbie claims bod didn't read your reference correctly. Also did you ever have a lloyds credit card? If so put this number down as well, most were sold with payment protection that you'd be paying a % of the outstanding balance

Merlin64
I go back to early 90,s with mine so I dont see a limit its whether the files and account numbers will be saved if you have no records ?
chrispti
Wish I did mine myself rather than using one of the claim companies . . . . . would have an extra £1500 in my pocket . . . . oh well

mikky
been thinking about pursuing this myself...but when you sign the dotted line are you not responsible for what you sign for..i seem to remember being given the option of having it or not..so how do you go about proving whether you need it or not....there could be a cheque out there with my name on it mikky

I never ever took it but am sure the MIL is due thousands as she always took it on everything and never used it.

Brown Sauce
You can still claim for loans over 7 years old, but unless you have the original paperwork you'll only be refunded at a standard amount rather than the amount of premiums. jef
I sent an email through Which? for my mortgage insurance. Recieved a cheque this week for almost the total I have paid in premiums. Whole process took around three weeks with Halifax. Now researching a new trailer....... JF
