hedd-wyn
Well here we go, my first photograph on PW, my first day out with the Hatsan, and my first time on the geese.... so as you can imagine I'm pretty happy with myself. Me and my mate got the decoys set and the hide up by 5-45 this morning. The weather was very foggy and we had a bit of trouble calling them in to begin with. However I managed to bag five and my mate one. Not a bad for couple of hours on a Saturday morning ps and home in time for the rugby Edited March 10, 2012 by hedd-wyn

wildfowler.250
Well done Can anyone confirm for me if decoys and calling geese in for pest control is ok? I assume it's much the same as shooting pigeons? Not having a go btw, just curious as I've been asked to do it myself before
coyotemaster
I would say you are off to a fine start!! Good shooting there, foggy days are the ones fowlers dream of low birds and looking for a feeding field.

Bloke
Well done, what's the semi on the bottom of the picture???, look's nice :good: That's the new Escort, with extended chokes etc, my mate bought one yesterday at Forest Guns, looks a nice and rugged bit of kit for £360 or £390, can't remember which. The gun at the bottom of the picture with the extended is actually a Beretta, the one in the top is my left handed Hastan. The Hatsan dropped 5, and the beretta droped one

hedd-wyn
Excellent stuff. Will you eat em now or see hem on? If what I shoot is edible, then I usually eat it. Gave one to my father in law, on to the farmer, one for myself, and one went my my mate down the road. Just finished breasting mine now, will eat it this week probably.... never tried it before mind Anyone got any recipes?

hedd-wyn
What modle Beretta is that mate is it an Es100 Can't remember to be honest, all I know is that it wasn't the latest semi auto version. It originally had a wooden stock and forend and he managed to get hold the synthetic stock from the U.S after months and months of searching. Couldn't find one in the uk

hedd-wyn
We used Gambore 36g no1 steel shot, recoil wasn't at all bad really. Best thing I did was buy a semi auto, doubt I'l be using my over and under for a while Even though the Hatsans have a bad rep, I took the gamble and bought one. It cycled well, the recoil was minimal, and it shot straight from the box. The new version is much better than the first ones apparently. My buddy had the Beretta about four years ago, and hasn't cleaned it much and has had no problems with it. Don't know which model is sorry, have just txted him and will let you know when I get a reply
Dave-G
I was expecting something totally different with 'virgin and 'semi in the title.
