eccles
Went for a quick shot with the daystate.Had these in pic and 3 more,1 lost in stream,1 stuck in ivy on big oak, other lost in thick bramble. This Daystate Ranger 40lb is a awesome tool few of these where 50y+.It knocks them out off the branches at that range. Will be looking out for something FAC in 177.The extra power gives you flatter shooting, don't have to worry about branches between you and target. Will be looking for company shooting squirrels, rabbits etc this coming winter.Got unlimited ground to shoot over. aaron airgunner
Great shooting mate! if you're having trouble skinning them just take the back legs off, this is where most of the meat is. get three squizzers and you've got enough meat for a good meal. i can skin a squirrel in about half an hour. just a slit up the belly and pull outwards, cutting off the paws and popping out the limbs, and slicing the membrane between the flesh and the skin till you get to the head then chop it off. i'm keeping the skins until i have enough to tan them all, hopefully make a air of gloves

Drew14
Does it make it any easier skinning squirrels when they are still warm? I havent tried doing them but i always find rabbits a lot harder if they are left till the next day or whenever. None of you are giving me much incentive to try doing a squirrel! coyotemaster
Good shooting Terry, you are obviously very familiar with that PCP. On the skinning part; I haven't yet read where anyone uses the method I was taught by an old hilllbilly. Cut across the b-hole under the tail and be sure to sever the small tendons just under the skin--maybe back 1" or so and 2" wide, lay him flat on his back and step on the tail while pulling the back legs up your body,Keep pulling until the skin is well over the head and can't go further, while stepping on the tail take the edge of the knife and get a bit of the small Y of skin left on the belly and pull up toward the back legs and over to the feet. I keep a nail in the tree and skin all my squirrels this far before hanging them all them all and cutting off the heads and feet. With a bit of practice you can skin 5 squirrels in about 15 minutes with nary a hair on the meat.
