new to the flock
A couple of floaters I made this morning. I know they are a little hard to see....should have taken the pictures before I painted them dead grass green........however that is what they are suppose to look like The one is 6 foot and the other is 5 foot. Made from 6mm rod with 4mm stainless steel wire for the wings. NTTF

Rob G
Proper job i think floaters/bouncers are one of the best things you can put in your decoy pattern

sussex lad
NTTF, Looking good ,i took the lazy way out and brought mine Are there any woodies to be had over the pond m8? I thought it was all crow and dove bashing!!
new to the flock
It is crows and ferel pigeons here Mate. No woodies and no dove hunt season. It seems Ontario hydro, and Bell Canada keep it shut down so that the slob hunters wont get a chance to shoot the birds from the wires causing damage. This is apparently why we lost our dove season back in the 60's. NTTF

Dunkield
Now THAT'S a good idea digga I was going to ask NTTF how he did the joins between the main rod ans the wing supports as I can't see them they are too well camouflaged
Dave-G
Insulated strip connectors - they're posh digga :( "floaters" also have another meaning over here ntfc... depending on how much fibre you eat And sinkers are bad
jonno 357
Nice one Digga. Good idea using electrical connectors I have gone one step further and used more substanial material but the same principal Here are the ones I have made. These v section wing spreaders are used on pigeon floaters and also pigeon magnet Picture 3 shows them folded up for easy storage and transportation Picture 4 shows them in use with the pigeon magnet arm as v section wing spreaders Picture 1 shows a close up of the arm attachment I use crocidile clips to attach the wood pieons arms to the v section wing spreader. This is far better than bending the wire and pressing it through the wood pigeons arms. They don't fall off!!! The croc clips are soldered onto the 4mm wire arms. Very strong application. Superglue could also work Anyone want any ?? I have 40 or so in stock at the moment FOR SALE £10 per pair plus £1 postage. They also supplied in a storage tube Jonno
Dunkield
I am quite interested jonno, are you selling just the spreader and the wing supports, or does it include the rod that goes into the ground as well?
