rimfire4969
I have been thinking of getting some Tweeds for the coming season, jacket, waistcoat and breeks. My shooting is split between walk one stand one, not very formal and some driven formal days. I don't want to spend £600 or £800 on a set that will may be get 5 or 6 outings a season. Does anyone know of a company that does a good tweed suit without the big price tag?
Sussexboy
Bob Parratt is where I got mine, several different styles and tweeds to choose from, suit like you are looking at for about 300 ish.
Pheasant Feeder
Would second Bob Parrott, excellent service and great value for money. The only complaint is that the website doesn't give a brilliant representation of the tweed's, it might be worth getting a brochure from him as you can see the colours/patterns better. Devon Fox
I have a couple of parrott suits - excellent value and look the business.
WelshLamb
I thought traditionally only keepers wear 3 piece tweeds. Or I may be wrong
Fatcatsplat
I've got a set of Bob Parratt and as has been said, they are very good, BUT, i've never really been rained on wearing them, so can't vouch for their waterproof qualities. Bear68
Another one for Bob Parratt. Low enough prices for me to buy a second pair of breeks; the total cost (including jacket and waistcoat) was under £300.
rimfire4969
It seems Bob Parratt has a good following, i will have a look at his website. Thanks
JDog
I thought traditionally only keepers wear 3 piece tweeds. Or I may be wrong A three piece suit is generally considered to be over the top for a gun standing in line. Better to wear a thin v-necked jumper instead of the waist coat. JDog
Oh and I forgot to mention that 'longs' or long trousers rather than plus fours seem to be all of the rage at the moment.

harry flashman
I wear moleskin breeks and moleskin waistcoat (which I also wear when shooting clays) coupled with a either a lightweight green shooting jacket for hot days or a heavy tweed shooting jacket for when it gets cold. Not felt out of place on a line yet, and I reckon you could get breeks, waistcoat and one jacket for 300 quid easy enough?
happypig
Bob parratt will send you a swatch to help decide what tweed to buy.... Or pm me and I'll send you the one I have....
fenman99
Another vote for Bob's, one problem th'o the pockets are to small in the breeks. My hands don't fit!! fenman99
Rupert
Ebay is really good if you have time and are vigilant.Over the past year i have aquired a full musto technical tweed outfit for less than £200,of course its not new but it may as well be its immaculate,i even bought a tweed coat for 80 that was too big and sold it the week after for 164,so i have a first class outfit for £120. jmooney
Is there any kind of guide online or in print as to what's appropriate tweeds for who? Like what a keeper wears, guns, beaters, pickers up, etc?

HDF
before coughing up for brand new tweed I'd have a look around your local charity shops, you can often get a right steal
