sitsinhedges
My Investarm 20g O/U has double discharged a couple of times in the last 100 or so rounds. I took the butt stock off today to check the mechanism but everything seems tickety boo so I was wondering if anyone had an idea why it might happen. Besides this it has been fine for the last few years that I have owned it and has had a reasonable amount of ammo put thru it. Nothing seems to be particularly worn and the springs still seem springy etc. Thoughts?
-Mongrel-
I believe it's normally worn sears? Maybe not visible but maybe a gunsmith should take a look?

Lord Geordie
Sears worn OR sear springs are weak or cracked. Could also be the engaging zone on the hammers? I know a loose or incorrectly fitted stock can cause double firing it it interferes with the hammers andsears housing. When I first read the topic I thought it was going to be about an STD
Guest cookoff013
it could be the triggers set too light, wouldnt be the first time this has happened.
Gerry31
There are a few reasons this ay happen as already posted however no repairs should be attempted it needs expert attention

GingerCat
Had a similar problem, more of a fan fire then a true dd. Was the second trigger set to light causing the recoil to set it off. Cost a couple of quid to tighten up and problem sorted
ayano3
I had a double discharge with my AYA No4. I was taking a high bird and the next thing I knew I was nursing two black eyes and a nice big cut on the bridge of my nose that was bleeding down my face. I can confirm its most likely to be worn sears. I think mine cost me £30 with a strip & clean at the same time. The concussion went after about 3 days ! With mine it was just bang bang in quick succession. Quite unexciting really.
THE GRIFF
I had one of the hushpower over and under guns until I recently sold it, its the same action as the none silenced ones i think and I also had the same problem with it double discharging on the odd occasion, as I bought it new it went back to the saddlery gun room where they are made on several occasions under warrenty and each time was sent back saying there wasn't a fault. Then after the 4th time they found the problem, when you put the gun together if the threaded bolt wasn't really tightly screwed down for some reason it double discharged, this is why it was happening with me and not when I sent it back as they were tightening more. As they are quite long guns I had to take it apart to fit in the cabinet, unbeknow to me, depending on how tight or loose I tightened the bolt the gun would sometimes doubledischarge more often. Once they found the problem they sorted it straight away by adjusting something inside.
