dog tired
Hi all, this is my first post on here so please be gentle. Ive recently got my sgc and have purchased the above for my first gun i will be using it for rough shooting and decoying using fiocchi pigeon 32/6, My question is,can anyone give me some info on the gun,it has a L on the trigger guard if that helps also 28 in barrells, ive used it a couple of times and have no problem hitting birds within decoying range. Thanks to all
coyotemaster
Welcome to Pigeon Watch! I have the exact same gun and it's a very nice shotgun. See how you fare with the 32 gram loads as it is a pretty light gun, I shoot 21 gram loads in mine and find them very comfortable as far as recoil is concerned. The less recoil you feel the better you will shoot regardless of any other factor. I am assuming you have Mobilchokes? I find the factory Beretta tubes are pretty good. MrPhantom
I had one of these with fixed choke for over 15 years until I sold it recently. It was one of the older style (some say better made) Beretta's which were discontinued in the late 80's. I used it for all my game and rough shooting and it was a quality gun which served me well. As coyotemaster said, it is a light gun (I always assumed that the 'L' on the trigger guard stood for 'lightweight') and I wouldn't recommend putting heavy shells through it. libs
Well done on the acquisition of such a nice gun, I've had mine a few years now and it hasn't missed a beat. As mentioned previously its a pretty common thing to hear that the older guns are better than the new silver pigeons, I've heard this said too many times from people in the right places for it to be false. Enjoy the new gun.

retromlc
what you are shooting cart wise is fine,it's only if you shot a couple of hundred carts in a day you might feel it in your shoulder,32grm won't damage your gun,if your gun fits you the recoil won't effect you to much,I shoot 30 grm/6 for rough shooting it's a good cart size. Also it's a bit dearer but buy fibre wad carts as they are kinder to the enviorment and farmers don't generally like their land littered with plastic wads. coyotemaster
you may have seen a previous post of mine looking for a lighter gun for my other half.... does anybody know what this gun weighs in at? Without getting out the scale I think it is a shade under 7# and with the 28" tubes swings nicely. Hi, the gun fits fine and i dont really notice the recoil , but was concerned about damaging the gun with the heavy load. Sorry didn't mean to scare you on that, it will shoot whatever you want to put through it---mine has 3" chambers but I would dread that!! Your chokes are about perfect for your pursuits, I like IC and Mod for most shooting=== 1/4 and 1/2 there.
Scully
Had one many years ago with fixed chokes at 1/4 and 3/4.Part-exchanged it when I thought I needed a multi-choke,but now know better. Very good gun. Edited November 8, 2012 by Scully
