as said ..... its about a well placed shot

ive found RWS super domes to be very consistantly accurate in my Hw100 (177)

that what i found best, although in the summer rabbits seemed to have a little more spirit than previously, dont ask me why but others have said the same, otherwise ive never had a problem in my hw100 fsb tk in .177 with rws superdomes, usually instant clean kill...all the best steve

1st,, you have not had your hw100 long and imo i think you need to find out what pellets suit your rifle best for good grouping (try different pellets)

2nd,, get out and spend hours practicing with your rifle on the range at your chosen distances (hopefully between 20 + 35yrds) and with the pellets that suit you rifle best

3rd,, once you have mastered what you and your rifle and pellets are capable of then its time to take this out on the field

even tho i have used air rifles for over 35 yrs i still go out and plink to check my scope check the pellets are still performing well but most of all to check how accurate my gun is

when i bought my huntsman, i spent hours and hours trying different pellets out and found that JSB Exact were the most accurate, i then spent weeks testing what the gun was capable of and at what ranges with the chosen pellets

it was not until i was 100% certain of its and my capabilities with the gun that i took it out into the field

pellet placement is a must to ensure clean kills and as said previously pellet choice is also important to YOUR RIFLE ONLY,forget about the weight just get use to where you can place the pellet on a target

good luck and enjoy your shooting cheers evo

My Regulated AA S200 177 seems to prefer RWS Superdomes, Whereas the Reg'd BSA Ultra prefers JSB Jumbo exacts.

Its what works for you and your rifle as a combination.

There are so many other things that have to be considered when you get to your permission, that can affect an accurate shot

and achieve the clean kill we all must desire.

(My humble uninformed opinion only)

All good advice, much more time and practice to come,I would expect that you could buy a selection pellet package from someone rather than buying 3 tins at a £10 each,J ramsbottom might do something like that?

You could visit South East Airgun Club, it's friendly and not too far, I'm sure the guys there would help you with a selection of pellets to try and they always have a load of targets out from 10yds to 60yds. They do close over mid winter, so check before you visit.

BB took offence has did I to bruno 22rf comment to which he was man enough to apologized for.

So why you need to comment is beyond me just read the posts fully.

Why is it that you have to try and start a fight on virtually every thread you get on Nightsearcher? Simple question. Try if you can and enlighten us all as to why you do it? No, you read my post 38 and take it on board. Seems a perfectly ok post to me. You obviously have a sensitive side re your reaction to my post 24 and Bruno's response. Shall we make the airgun section for your supreme skill and knowledge only so we don't make you lose your cool and upset you? Grow up!!

Exactly Mick! You(and we have all been there including me) seemed to not be confident of your pellet choice. My post 24 and the attached video was to the point and merely to reassure you that you were ok with what you had. Bruno backed it up for the sake of avoiding further confusion and got pushed into apologising for nothing. Totally unnecessary reaction from some.

Happy xmas to you mick :good:

I Have not said a thing about your post 24 it was very good advice and a good vid.

Yes you're right he did BB, but the reason he wan't killing them wasn't the pellet weight, so the thread diversed into more helpful advice. Not having a go :good:

Has for this post you say you are not having a go.

It looks like a pop at BB to me.

It`s not me that needs to Grow up. :smartass:

For goodness sake what is it with you? What part of me reassuring BB "I'm not having a go" means I am. This is supposed to be a thread to help a fellow pw member enjoy his sport and get over a few hiccups. You're seeing things that aren't there and your input is not helpful. Go and start a fight elsewhere as I'm not going to take your bait.

Lads Lads!

Can I say I am not offended by anyone in any shape or form.

I gave out what I think is good advice on heavier pellets which I have been using myself for many many years.

Let's forget this matter and all get along which as proud and responsible Shooters we should do.

ATVB to you all.

Happy New Year to you and happy and safe shooting in 2013.
