Hi mate sorry to hear you have lost your shooting I take it you have spoken to new owner about it , I know I'd be gutted too.

May I make a observation though, you joined yesterday and your second post was asking for help to keep shooting but you weren't here offering to share when you had 900 acres, it's just how I see it and prob others and don't take it as a pop at you but it is obvious.

However I wish you luck in finding something

Regards

John

i know you arnt having a pop at me at all.. i would of happily shared the 900 acres as more guns the better,,

but i saw this site a year or so ago and it wasnt realy that special to be honest in my opinion. but had a look yesterday and the sight has obviousley been completly revamped and seemed alot of active members so thought why not join..

new to this forum stuff, so second post asking for shooting may be some kind off offence to sum people sorry for that lol... but i no if i saw a guy without any shooting i would be happy to try and help out stright away, and if i am lucky enough to wangle back my shooting the first thing i will do is offer anyone in my area if the would like to join me, as ive had good bags on the rape this time of year

Perhaps you could explain to the new farmer that when his crops are getting hit by the pigeons that he could give you a call if he likes as you protected the previous owners crops for x amount of years, And don't be getting your permissions and not coming back to the forum until you need help again ;)

Sorry mate I can't help as I'm far way and the same happen to me so the only permsssion I've got have no pigeons.

Though I laugh when I read some posts.... do you all think people don't work or don't have families? think people have lots of spare times in their hands or their days are longer then yours?? lol

I lost my permission because between work and family I can only go out 10 times a year (mostly not in the same month and mostly for half a day)....personal sitations do matter, so, if somebody ask for help it's not always the case he's lazy and dosn't want to go out!

In the past 18 months I worked Mon-Sat (missus is been made redundant) and sundays are mostly for the wee man, even when I finish work early is still 5 in the afternoon and it takes me an hour to go home and at least 2 to get further than my old permissions....when am i suppose to meet farmers...... at night? kock at their door when they're asleep??? c'mon gimmie a break!

You got spare time in your hands, live in contryside close to farms or meet farmers at the local pub....is all good for ya fellas but we're not all the same!!

If i spend all my free days knocking at doors.....when am i supposed to shoot??

you need to be a bit more considerate of who's not got the same luck you had/have and take into account personal situations before you judge (but understand this is not in the shooter's nature)....

If I, like most fellas, ask for help, the last think I need is someone to tell me to knock at doors because, believe me, if I could I wouldnae need to spend time on my laptop to scavange a few hours oot!!

I hope the same doesn't happens to you fella but someone once said 'you only get back what you gave oot'

Cheers the noo

Franco

ps: sorry about the rant, haven't been oot in two months!

Ok get your point so do you want me to not go shooting and do your door knocking for you .

Jump down off your box a little fella and realise this is a tough hobby to get into and a damn right harder to keep in to. I sympathise with folks who are struggling but you did not get my point and that is" put a little bit more into this forum than you hope to get out of it and you won't go far wrong". At a guess I have given more than I have ever had back and that's the way I like it

Haha that post is the longest bit of reading I've done in a while mate.. Completly know where u are coming from tho. I only asked for a bit of a help because im so passionate about shooting and then sum keyboard warrior says "is this the first post of 2013 asking for shooting" give a ****. If I saw a guy on here who had no shooting and was close to me the first thing I would do is sort a day out for them to come with me weather we shoot 1 or 101.. Lol I'm like you mate I work on a quarry, do 13hour shifts away from home and most Saturdays (unless I book them off for shooting) going to have to go knocking on Sunday's I rekon.. If no luck goin to have to do sumthing i don't agree with... Paying to shoot a wild bloody bird.. Anything to get a fix!!!! Lol

So, that means you couldnt do what you said you would.

Instead of "scavenging" , why not try and email or write letters.

You'll also note that theres a good few on here that will bicker and snipe over trivial matters rather than just enjoy the forum for what it is, a place where people should share similar interests and have a laugh... many get tide up in the old...

You'll also note that after bickering and sniping the said bickerers and snipers quite often make very poor attempts at humour while slapping each other on the back in a "well done fella" type fashion.

Nowt wrong with a bit of back slapping. People work hard to get shooting land, so why should they feel guilty for not sharing. You have to earn your stripes, not buy them on ebay. If someone wants to go out, then its about the way they ask, or wait to be asked. Dont just expect.
