farmer
It's called "MIXY" mate!! Tell tale signs are swollen pussy filled eyes and generaly under weight and not looking too good Best off shot and put out of it's misery I really hate seeing them suffer in this way If you like most of us have had ****e loads of rain recently that dont help them because they tend to spend alot more time down the burrows which helps the dreaded flea do it's work on them. Hairy Pat
The proper Autumn weather with rain and a cold wind is keeping the rabbits down their holes on all my permissions. One of the landowners has seen rabbits with mixy, so could be a time of year thing. Pat
Poacher
I shot a couple with Mixy this year, is it just me or has anyone else noticed that rabbits with Mixy have a smell about them is this normal or am i dreaming...

njc110381
If the mixy is bad you will soon know. You will be able to walk up to the rabbit and stamp on its head! That's what I do if I don't have my gun with me
henry d
If the mixy is bad you will soon know. You will be able to walk up to the rabbit and stamp on its head! That's what I do if I don't have my gun with me If you pick it up and chin/neck it,it would be kinder and would show a lot more respect for an animal. Catamong
That's because Mixy sends them blind, they probably can't see more than a few feet. They will often dash head first into fences, trees etc when in the late stages of the disease. Cat.
dibbz2000
Myxsy pretty much decimated the bunnie population here over the past few years, but I was suprised (and relieved) to find that this year there booming all round my farm and taking over fields Ive never seen them anywhere near!! Ive had about 40 over the past month or so, and not a sign of myxsy as of yet.... Fingers crossed!
Vulcha
I've shot like, 10 million myxy rabbits this year. Well, maybe not that many, probably about 20 odd. I walked right up behind one and it ran as I lifted my gun. As for the running into trees and shiz, I doubt I'm the only one who finds it kinda comical. Conygree
Found a few in Oxfordshire, shot the lot. But what p**** me off was on a caravan storage site there was enough rabbits do the remake of Watership Down but I had to wait untill the site closed for the winter before shooting them. But now they have Mixxy wipped out maybe 100+ so now its down to humane dispatch. From one old keeper back in the 50's they had thousands to clear up by driving around with a van across an estate picking them up by the sack full, burning them in large bonefires, some mixxy rabbits had their heads chopped off and were fed to the dogs with no effect.
