Gooseman1982
Has anyone got advice on waders please, I always suffer with cold feet in waders there like ice blocks I've had cheap pairs and neoprene waders as well. Wondering if anyone has found waders that keep your feet warm. Thanks Gooseman

barrold
You can get waders with thinsulate boots mate, not sure were in this country but cabelas sell them. Normal rubber wader boots are horrendous in cold weather
P~MX
Garlands camo half neoprene waders are brilliant + I wear a pair of Vision neoprene socks inside the waders, you can get them around £80 on ebay

anser2
Even in this weather neoprean waders are much too warm for me. I was out in - 12 the other morning wearing thin PVC waders and sweating like a pig. If you suffer with the cold better to wear several layers of underclothes and socks than burden yourself with neopreans. Sockets can be pretty good too. I have been out most days this week for up to 5 hours at a time and never felt cold at all wearing a Tshirt , polo shirt, jumper and outer coat , thin pair of socks plus a thick over pair of socks and cheast waders or over trousers and short boots. fenboy
Muckluc do a thermal thigh wader another tip is that you normally get cold after sweating while walking etc. So try using anti perspirant on your feet including the soles , It really can help
anser2
Gooseman well I am almost 60 , so not quite a spring chicken and been out in temperatures well below this weeks -12 with no problems. I usualy find its not the temperature that makes it feel cood , but the wind chill. My big problem has always been keeping cool not warm. I hate early season fowling in cheasties for this reason. anser2
been an average one for duck , but poor for geese. Until the past few weeks the weather has not helped and we had too much flooding at the end of the year with fowl scattered all over the place. TJ91
Kind of on the same subject....a lad I work with from poland said it feels colder at minus 2 here than minus 20 over there due to the air been dryer there...is this true or is he laughing behind my back for sorta believing him!? Several thin layers is better than 1 or 2 thick one .

No he's right. I spent a long time working on the continent and though winters were often colder down into the the -20's etc it always felt colder here in the UK when it was infact much warmer. Drier air was always the reason given then as well but I have no idea if that is fact or not? Edited January 21, 2013 by Reabrook

Cabelas is the only other option to get size 14, have to go up one size for american stuff though! I've got the same problem, got a pair of size 14 thigh boots from the company i mentioned but need some 14 chesties but the only place is Cabelas! Whistling wings
Cabelas and buy a pair of insulated waders . Mine are 1000 grams thinsulate and are the best thing I'm ever had on my feet . Havnt had cold feet since I started wearing them . Cabelas are now doing international enhanced so there are no hidden charges when your gear gets to you .
