very nice Nicky -- that's a great piece of wood on your 682 -- is that a limited edition 682 there ? who did your work ?

Thanks Nigel. It's a bog standard Beretta 682 Gold E that has had all of the factory laser chequering removed on both the stock and the forend, been re-chequered by hand, had the grip re-profiled and the stock and forend finished to the standard in the above pictures. The full story can be read here: http://shootclay.co.uk/2013/01/09/gunfitting-a-journey-of-enlightenment/

Tim Greenwood did all of the work apart from fitting the Isis2 system.

Very nice bit of wood nick, hopefully will see it in the flesh on Sunday.

How did you manage to get that grade of timber on a 682 gold e,it's better than on most EELL guns, well done.

Nick after reading your journey to gun fit,you should be writing for one of the mainstream shooting mags, the article was well written and a pleasure to read.

Cheers for the kind comments Figgy, sadly I won't be there on Sunday as i'm working ! I bought the gun second hand a couple of years back and didn't even see it in person before buying it. PDLM viewed it and said it looked good so I trusted his judgement :good:

Nicky - I have owned a couple of 682 E Golds. I thought they had pretty good wood, but yours is a different planet.

I too read the article -well written, but to be honest, I don't have the level of patience that you have to wait for that period of time to get it sorted.

If it's worth doing it is worth doing right Gordon ;)
