New to this site so hello to all.....

I am in the process of purchasing a Lanber sporting deluxe, but have noticed that there seems to be two of the sporting deluxe models, one with engraving faceplates and one with plain plates with lanber engraved in gold, my question is what’s the difference?.

Any advice would be appreciated.

All the best

My engraving & gold inlay makes the gun 32% more accurate while the deluxe name makes it much more pointable giving faster target aquisition,

further more in laboratory testing these guns consistently had better velocitys & spread patterns

IT'S TRUE, IT'S TRUE IT'S ALL TRUE.

Well I had a Lanber Sporting Deluxe, plain sides with the gold lettering. Cracking gun. Bought it off a mate who used it regular for clays. I only sold it to fund an AYA No4 as I preferred the SXS.

in my opinion, and limited in comparison to some on here, you cant go wrong with a Lanber. Good solid guns. You will probably pay more for a Browning or a Beretta, in some cases a lot more, but realistically will you shoot any better with one? Providing the Lanber fits you well, they will give you years of good service. If you have/want to spend more hard earned money on a gun, maybe with a nicer wood then go for it.

Bare in mind though, they all scratch the same on brambles, barbed wire etc. A mate bought a very nice Miroku O/U, used, in top condition. As soon as he came back from the gun shop, thought he would do a few clays in the paddock, and whilst walking through dinked the stock on a concrete gate post

Kind regards

Jonathan
