amishboy
Obviously it's against the law to shoot rabbits on public land but can you trap them?Near to where i live is around 5 square acres of public land and there are shedloads of rabbits (and the fatest foxes I have seen!!!) Is it ok to trap rabbits on common land?Obviously I would set the traps late and inspect them early so as not to annoy the "I salve my concience with a butcher" brigade. old rooster
One Acre x One Acre LOL doesn't that equal a cubic acre?? Just noticed that you are from Essex. Edited April 5, 2013 by old rooster
Bleeh
LOL doesn't that equal a cubic acre?? Just noticed that you are from Essex. Wouldn't that be one acre x one acre x one acre forming a cube rather than a square?
Mr-Sheen
One Acre x One Acre But an acre is a unit of area, not distance, so once acre x once acre would equal an acre^4 not one acre squared. LOL doesn't that equal a cubic acre?? Just noticed that you are from Essex. No, Cubic would be an acre ^
old rooster
Wouldn't that be one acre x one acre x one acre forming a cube rather than a square? Not quite sure but either way an acre is a measurement of area, not a linear measurement. Just made oi chuckle
old rooster
No, Cubic would be an acre ^3 Not sure that is right, if we consider 1 metre, a square meter is 1 metre x 1 metre then a cubic metre is that multiplied by

goodo123
Not sure that is right, if we consider 1 metre, a square meter is 1 metre x 1 metre then a cubic metre is that multiplied by 1 Not multiplied by 1 that would be pretty pointless, a meter is 1m (q 1m length), a square meter is 1m2 (1m lenth x 1m width), a cubic meter is 1m3 (1m length x 1m width x 1m height). A square acre I'm guessing is referring to the shape of the acre itself as you could have a acre which forms a triangular or circle shape for example. Acre being the noun and square being the adjective? Mby? Was never any good at English....
joe soapy
just think of it as £10000 worth, then when a frendly farmer gives you permission to shoot over 500 or so acres, he is allowing you the use of £5,000,000 worth of assets. stubby
1 acre is around 70yds
Dekers
An Acre is an area of 4840 sq yards. If you want that as a flat square to walk around each side would be just under 70 yards as per Stubby above. What the **** has this got to do with the OP? amishboy
I gave up when they intrduced a cubic acre! All I wanted was some advice on trapping rabbits with a loop trap as shooting on public land is an offence and I do not want to lose my certificate!! I have a Hy Mark .22 pistol, once caught would this pointed directly on the head despatch the rabbit quickly?I do not want to cause the animal distress and he's been in a loop for hours.I was appalled to see on you tube a man fail to break the rabbit's neck but cast it to one side quivering as he despatched others.I'll kill anything I can eat but let's be as compassionate as we possibly can!
