TJ91
Have a 2003 corsa The alarm keeps going off, very randomly Locked or unlocked it starts going off and sometimes won't turn off when I fidlle with the central locking key fob thingy It started going off today, it wouldn't go off, I got in and started the car...it didn't stop, turned it off, got out and locked it, it stopped for 5mins then started again so I just walked away, not sure how long before it stopped.... Question is, how do I turn it off completely? Where is the alarm? Help, its doing my head in...and no doubt the neighbours will be getting peed off now! Trevorevans
Low battery maybe? (Car battery not key fob), has caused this before in my experience. If not check the obvious first like the windows all being closed properly, door/bonnet/boot switches (the ones with little rubber boots in the closure areas that also operate the interior lights) are not sticking/stuck. Maybe there is a fuse you can remove to kill the alarm, take a look in the handbook to see which fuse controls the alarm but be careful as it may control other things too. bruno22rf
Some cars have a seperate key that turns the alarm on/off via a switch under the bonnet. If your fusebox is the standard one with 35 fuses then the third one on the top row, counting from the RIGHT will turn the thing off if you remove it,but it turns off dash lights etc as well-google 2003 corsa owners manual-its all there. aga man
do you have a manual for the car? i think they have a back up battery in the siren unit but not sure where it is .
four-wheel-drive
Just a thought but if you cannot find the problem untill you do you could get one of those things that you put on the battery and when you park up you can just turn the plastic nut and it cuts off the battery so the car is imobalised but not sounding the horn. andypaint
Try putting some tape over the ultra sonic movement detectors. Usually a culprit. Then check the door pins and bonnet pins are still connected and not stuck.

TJ91
Battery disconnect...alarm still goes off. Must be a back up battery or somewhere. Can't be bothered to investigate this evening so I have parked it further down the road away from my window Edited April 8, 2013 by TJ91

Mungler
Get a can of fly spray and do the interior. My money is on a small spider or insect living in your car.

karpman
Sounds like the power sounder. Probably in the wheel arch, probably best removed. Karpman

Karpman Will google power sounder, not heard of that before. When I got the car I did lock myself in it and set the alarm off to see if it worked...it did, the horn beeped 4 or 5 times then the noise changed, didn't sound same...now when it goes off the horn isnt sounding..it is just the higher pitched after noise. Would that be a powrr sounder?

Karpman lol that's what i meant when i said siren unit. my mates mother had a corsa with a similar problem. it was a back up battery in that power sounder thing that was faulty. mad1
Yeah it's in the passenger side in between the plastic wheel arch liner and wing ....a few bolts to undo then pull the liner forward and it can be un clipped or swapped or removed !?
