VINCED 686
I was looking at A1 decoy and came across UV decoy paintand was wondering if anyone has used it and if so does it make a difference. I was shooting today and had some comit to my pattern while others further out just kept going (i think i need a flapper .....but thats another topic all together). Anyone have any thoughts on the stuff
Mr pigeon
Hi mate I use it when my deeks need a freshen up. Can't say I have seen an improvement but if it makes you feel more confident then paint away! It won't make pigeons feed where they don't want to though! Good luck! VINCED 686
I think I might just spend the money on a couple of boxes of 32g 5s for the ones that won't commit !

Uncle Albert
Have you tried those UV pens they use to invisibly mark things. Don't see why they wouldn't work. When I'm tarting my deeks up I use Bathroom/kitchen emulsion. Waterproof and comes up good. If you mix the shade you want then simply paint it on or if you want to do the whole lot, spray it on after filtering it to get the big bits out. VINCED 686
great idea Albert..Im still waiting for the spray shop to pull their finger out but i will definatly look into it. I certainly dont think there is anything to lose. The missus is busy making wedding plans so i need to have something to make me look busy so I dont get dragged into it
Uncle Albert
Have a look at the trial pots in the likes of Homebase or B&Q. I have'nt found that it comes off when it gets wet. I find that one trial pot of grey and one of white gives you every opportunity to experiment with shades. Use the white on the necks and do the wings and body slightly different shades. If you want you can do the edges and centres of the flight feathers with a cotton bud as a brush. I spray the bodies en mass but you need to filter the paint. Filters from any car paint suppliers, dirt cheap. Local art shops for little pots of acrylic paint for eyes, etc. Small pots at about £2.00. will be enough for thousands of eyes, beaks etc. You can buy the flock coating from many sources. Paint deek with waterproof PVA first, then sprinkle flock on body. When dry you can spray to your heart's content. Ain't seen any hippy pigeons yet but early days though. Bit of black shadow above the eye, blue underneath? Could look quite endearing. Just something to help as an attractant.
