sitsinhedges
We had a couple of drilled fields with nothing on, then suddenly they appeared and we managed to get down there and bag a couple of dozen but today nothing on them again. You've just got to keep your eye out until your fields are their best offer.

cocknee
A lot of pigeons this time of year go back into the woods to eat leaf buds this year has been unusual because the drilling has been late and has coincided with the buds beginning to show. PLH1966
Had a good month in Norfolk, but out today & ditto, no birds - except in the woods & bushes.

This is correct. This is why i'm not finding as many as i would like on the rape fields at the moment, although there are still a fair few to be had on rape just now. Hopefully they'll be finished in the woods soon and i can really start laying in to them on the rape. I have a few fields lined up when they do decide to return en masse.
