NickB65
Over my way they are still on rape and just starting on the wheat ....... One rape field is totally knackered ....... Only good use is for pigeon shooting. Crop is less than 5cm high!
The Ghost
Had a couple of hours last night got 11 all were full of...Rape. They must love the stuff as plenty of other crops coming up to go at. All good fat birds looking heathy and few exploding crops.....greedy beggers

Cranfield
In my area, now the drillings have disappeared most birds seem to be back on rape, in the low growth areas. Chitting peas and beans are being mainly ignored, but I will keep an eye on them as they are usually good this time of year.
motty
Rape is the first port of call for me. It could provide some good sport for a few weeks to come.

motty
So will they come back on the beans when they come through In my experience, pigeons don't really touch the beans too much when they start to poke through.

TJ91
This time of year I find sitting in the woods with air rifle most productive. They seem to be in the small bunches of bushes and trees eating buds
Aaz
Drove past field this morning with about 200 munching on this - I'm afraid my inexperience cant tell you what it is but I'm sure someone can

TJ91
More likely to be feeding on something growing amongst it.

fieldwanderer
rape and clover around here, seen more on clover over the last couple of weeks than anything else but sadly there's none on any of my permissions (pigeons or clover ) and they seem to be leaving the rape alone on my permissions too. I've had some very pleasant evenings after the rabbits though
Aaz
Nout grown amongst it, walked to where they were feeding and there wasn't any ungerminated seeds or anything else other than my pic. Perhaps just plucking the newly sprouted shoots.
richg
Saw some birds dropping into Winter Wheat last week, closer inspection found they were eating Chickweed growing in the rows, set up shot 46 in three hours, so KEEP YOUR EYES OPEN.
