Salopian just ignore potter he seems to have a chip on his shoulder as he moans about everyone, including me various times in the past!!!

I would be grateful if you are going to refer to me by my surname at least have the decency to capitalise the first letter!

I have to admit I don' t recall moaning at you at various times in the past, please feel free to refresh my memory and I'll happily start moaning all over again.

Potter

Oh were you the utter muppet who boasted of blocking up lake district lanes to punish tourists who had the utter temerity to want to drive on the same roads as you?

I shot the layout yesterday (3pm start). We finished at around 4:45! Only some slight waiting at a few stands, and because it was mainly 3 pairs, we got around in super-fast time. The venue's facilities (1st time there for me) were excellent, with a good selection of food available. Although it chucked it down with rain, and with very windy conditions, the ground was still mud free - a bonus!

As a total novice (C class) shot, I found the majority of layouts to be extreemly difficult. I was fortunate enough to have 2 AAA shots, and 1 AA shot in the same squad as me, all of which commented on the difficulty of the stands (Okay, I did straight 1 stand - whoo-hoo!) but blanked 1 :/

Stand 12 was a nightmare (for me, anyhow) Sim-pair off the high tower - with the wind taking the targets into the next County - same for all I suppose, but a real wrist-slasher for the novice shot.

Some very low scoring results so far (Including some A & B class shooters under 35!) so I suppose, a 49 was sort of - ok :sad1:

Off to lick my wounds now, and retrieve my gun from the lake!

Best of British!

A mid nineties will be more than enough on those targets :lol:

Scores are usually up on CPSA site in the evening :good:

Tough course looking at the results so far, you beat a fair few AAA shots Azzuri.

Some very poor scores from top shots.

I'm glad I never bothered with this one, the lads I usually shoot with didn't do well, one to forget about scores quickly.

Was it just a tough layout or had the setter gone mad.

1pm squad yesterday. Weather was abysmal. Worst weather I have shot in. I was total soaked through by the second stand. Targets were challenging and a score of 91 is well worthy of collecting first prize, well done to Adam. Ladies jnr did well also.

Shot a 61 at the English Open today with the new gun on it's 3rd outing so not too concerned. It was a very tough shoot and exceedingly blustery.I shot the stands11 through to 1 with multiple losses :sad1::no: and then seemed more and more comfortable with the gun for the last 7 or 8 stands :yahoo: with only dropping about12, shame i couldn't have another go..Full credit to the worthy winners. from Auntie.

Gone back to the trustee Berettas. The Mk38's which i had two of were just too long and heavy for me, so bit the bullet and did a trade in for a 29 and a half inch adjustable stock Beretta 682 Gold E .Much lighter and more manoverable for my old arms.I hope to recover my scores which were about15% down on when i was shooting my best, I know that i will never be as good as before due to the years and obviously fatigue but never say never. from Auntie.

Great guns Auntie :good:

I use a 32" version as the two Brownings I've had didn't suit me.

I like how the Beretta feels and points.

Good shooting.

After a chat with the lads today the very bad weather is what made the course tough and sun in eyes on some targets.

yes phil R but when you look at the application form in the pull book there was no mention of these categories they are mentioned in skeet and down the line but not sporting

Why ( and why has my spell check packed up )

Deershooter

Can't help you there but the guys in the DSG obviously knew about it. If you aren't a member of it perhaps it'd be worthwhile joining them.

As I made mention of before they've got categories in the English Open OT at Nuthampstead next month. They've got sponsorship from Edgar Brothers too.

With regard to the Pull! entry form an email of complaint to Nick Fellowes from you might focus his attention. I know you can enter on line from the CPSA website and may have had the disabled categories included on that if a decision was made after Pull! went to press.

Quick questions

Why have some people won by default and why are some scores unresolved?

:shaun:

Normally if there's two people tied and one person remains at the ground and the other has left the ground then the person who remained wins by default. In the case of multiple people tied then it's not simple to determine in which order they should be placed especially if none of them are at the ground and able to shoot off.

Don't forget that this event was shot over four days, the guys in AAA tied on 88 could reasonably expect their scores to be beaten under normal conditions. They may live at the other end of the country to the shoot, and to turn up again at the shoot on the final day on spec that they may have won their class is unrealistic I believe.

In an event where people are competing over the course of several days (i.e. 200 targets and 2 days), or just on one day, come to that and they leave before shoot offs are announced then they deserve to lose by default, IMHO of course.
