Beardo
I've got my eye operation in an hour - to have a cyst removed - most likely caused by powder irritation whilst shooting a semi-auto when the shells eject (it appeared shortly after i'd been clay shooting). It pays to wear protection! - it's been getting bigger over the last month and more irritating - looks like a tapeworm cyst! Fingers crossed i'll have the eyepatch off by tomorrow, else i can't drive up to the charity shoot!

Neil , Oakleys are quite popular within the clay shooting folks like my pair in my profile picture , what's good about them is you could have an odd shaped sweaty head and they still won't fall off
PhilR
Beardo I hope everything has gone OK with the op. More importantly have you taken the snaps of Mrs B yet. We don't want them out of focus because you've got a sore eye.

neil3728
I have a pair of Oakley sunglasses, very nice I must admit, but expensive to be wearing every now and again, Yes my eyes are very important like my hearing protection but at the same time I don't want to be ripped off if its not needed. neil3728
is there any manufacturing standard that you would expect shooting glasses to meet.these mention something aboutthe lenses exceed BSEN 1836 1997 + EN 1161 F Part 1 standards. but I have no idea if that any good. http://www.uttings.co.uk/Product/634/103090/napier-system-7000-multi-sport-glasses-s7000/
Beardo
Well that was the biggest waste of time ever, two pre op assessments and I turn up today to be told... We can't do that here you'll have to go to Moorfields. It'll need removing with a microscope, knife and stitching. Oh great, so that's another couple of months wait. Bloody thing feels horrible now Rant over Our old site advertisers are pretty good.. http://www.sunglassesforsport.com/shop/sport/shooting/
Guest cookoff013
i use glasses, purely because of ejected shells. i cant count how many times i`ve been hit in the face with ejected shells. i always wear glasses.
