bazzab
Thank you chaps. I never expect a car to be as nice as photos make it look. But i have to say this definitely was. Of course there is a couple of marks and a small scratch but overall she's a beauty.
stubby
I was always lead the believe they were expensive to keep/run, but find yourself a good garage and look online, spares aint as pricey as first thought, and being diesel, I just did 344 miles on 40 litres don't know if thats good or bad mind
al4x
39mpg stubby so not bad at all, the diesel freelanders suffer from the carry on that happened with the petrol ones other than the issues drive train wise they aren't bad motors, but buying 2nd hand is as much of a minefield as new and you can only go on condition. neil3728
nice car, you will love it. You will get loads of flack but most of it comes from people who has never owned one. A lot more capable offroad than many would think.

stubby
maybe you'll become a freelander lover like me I got mine from evil elvis around a month or so ago, already done a few simple home fixes, and a couple more to follow, had an inspection done for £40 from a LR garage, and for its age, the results did not give me a heart attack, here's a clip from my go-pro mounted on the bull bars, shot the video to show the land agents our private road dont need a £6000 face lift,
colin lad
The funny thing is B725 that baz was one of those jap lovers who swore he would never get a frelander as long as he had a hole up his rear end lol and he preached it loud and clear on here too i just need to scroll back and find some of his old comments haha not wanting to stir it up but I am sure he use to take the Mickey out of mungolee every time his Freelander went wrong Colin ps enjoy it baz give me a call when you breakdown and I will come and pick you up
Pastiebap
Looks the job, and the auto is the right box to go for (in my opinion). The TD4 which I believe is the M47R BMW engine is a cracking lump of iron and shouldn't give you too much hassle.

Mike737
We had a Td4 auto after a number of Classic Range Rovers, well impressed it never got stuck in snow, and looked after us just fine when we got side-swiped by an artic on the M1. Not bad mpg for a heavy auto, got a Disco at the moment but would have another Freelander. Only downside for me was low headroom when getting in or out, I cracked my head a few times...
